Morning all, AF day 1 accomplished
(well 2 actually but only one in Sept!)
Feeling confident about the challenge for Sept although DH phased me last night by announcing he is going teetotal (he doesn't drink as much as me but has been doing too much of late) then asked if I was joining him and when I said I wasn't sure he said he thought I ought to  I am slightly annoyed as it really isn't his call to decide for me! (but is that just cos I know he is right?)
Jo sending you many hugs, I have been in that position so often lately, that little voice in your head and the other one arguing with it!! Hope you keep on track today
Budgie I don't know why you are having some alone time but sending you hugs too
Hope everyone is ok today xx0 -
Morning all
DB - good news on the results
Jo - ((hugs)) Not sure what else I can say to helpAnd no, I'm not sticking you on ignore! We are here to listen, remember!!
Shoppy - My husband IS teetotal...always has been, just doesn't like the taste of alcohol. He never comments on how much I drink but, to be honest, I wish he WOULD! Its like I feel if he DID then I would have a reason to stop. I sound stupid, just ignore me
Anyways....was up early here...Gasman can come anytime between 8 and 1. Bet its nearer bloody 1pm! Mind you, don't mind as I'll let him off...he's rather yummy looking...bit like Johnny Wilkinson
Piglet got in my bed at 7am...buried under the covers whilst I was drying my hair, and still hasn't made an appearance!:rotfl: He was very excited yesterday as we collected OH's daughter from the bus-station. She's here till tonight. And YAY, she has an interview for a placement at a nursery close to her home!!:T:j Placement wouldn't start till january so she has agreed to get a job in the meantime. We are looking for a part time one here for her so she could be up here during the week and then go home to her Mum Friday - Monday. Lets hope it all pans out!
Yikes...look at the time. better get my make-up on before gas Man arrives!!!!:D

Still here, still doing OK with my 'not drinking midweek' thing! Each day when I don't drink but would have done (IFSWIM) I put a penny by my computer. So, this is week 3, and in week 1 I put 3p there, in week 2 another 3p (was 4 AF days, but one day I was doing something that meant I wouldn't have had a drink anyway, so I can't count it). So far this week 2p, but it should be tonight as well. As Monday was a BH, I decided a drink was in order!
So, at the moment, I'm staring at 8p. And each of those is a bottle of wine that OH and I would have shared between us, and maybe something else as well. But take just the wine for the moment. I did the maths and worked out that on average we spend £6.50 on a bottle of wine, so my 8p is really worth £52!!! I'm not in debt, and not doing this for financial reasons, but even so, £52!
Glad OH is doing it with me, but it's definately me pushing not him. And I think he might start drinking midweek again soon, at which point I'll try not to join him, but will be tempted I know....0 -
Cazza - Sorry you are having a carp timeDo you want to be part of the September challenge? Do you want a target?
Shaggy
I would like to be part of the September challenge, but I don't want to set a target for myself, as I don't need the additional stress, LOL!
Sadly, I wasn't AF yesterday. Had a bit of a melt-down actually, I was a total mess, lost the plot, went bananas, got drunk, hit my head (accidental but still very stupid)......... that kind of thing.
I thought I was coping averagely well. Clearly I am not.
I think I seriously need to go back to AA.
Hugs,
Caz

just before i start. I love that song.. 'How do you get up from an all time low' just seen who sings it some pretty boy band. Not what I thought at all. Anyway still a good song and pretty apt for here!
Ok. Read back a few pages and good to see lots of different people returning. Hello everyone. I'm not too good at making comments individually but sending appropriate vibes to all.
We have been camping for 2 nights before last night. Cold was not the word. We even made up a ditty 'I'm not going to die of hypothermia' to the tune of 'come and have a go if you think you're hard enough!'
All good charachter building stuff?? Isn't it?
Went with a friend who I have known for years and has been a frequent drinking partner. She drank...not huge amounts and I didn't. So all good. I still get a bit twitchy about spending time with drinkers, but it is lessening and almost all the people I know now just know I don't drink. End of.
Back to school for DS this morning. He hates school which is a worry. So a bit of a struggle this morning.
New rabbit has been purchased from the campsite we stayed at (has a small holding attached) probably saved it from the pot!!
I'm not back to work until Monday. So need to crack on and finish a few bits around the house.
I love this time of year...my absolute favourite. All about new starts.

Hope people achieve their targets this month.I have a couple of friends at the moment who are failing spectacularly,I accept now that nothing I do or say will make any difference,I just have to be there for them.It never does me any good seeing people struggle with Alcoholism,it makes me so sad,it progresses relentlessly, sometimes very slowly as it did for me over many years.
Nice day planned walk dog, swim in outdoor pool, walk dog, cook tea,out tonight. No housework or gardening both of which need doing.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Also putting off looking for new home insurance, just had my renewal,I am sure Windsor Castle dosent cost as much to insure as my house.Must do it now.Sobriety delivers everything Alcohol promised.
