ohh my in laws are Storrington - nice place in a very middle England type of way - Gatwick's definately nearer.

thanks for the welcome back and Shaggy I think I'll just go with one day at a time, No target this month, thank you very much.

Cazza, sorry that everything's so grim for you right now and I do sympathise with the desire to blot it all out a bit by drinking - but as you said, it's even worse to cope when you have a hangover.

I'm AF today, feeling much better for having had 3 AF days so now it is onward and upward.

    g'night all

    Hi all,

Welcome back Gien and really good wishes to all for this new month. I hope everyone achieves what they want to do.

Jo - had to laugh at Winnie the Shhh!

HB - thanks for your encouragement last night. I made it AF.
That's what this thread is all about. You can say how you are feeling and just knowing someone understands makes it so much easier. We can all help each other.

Had my appointment at cardiology this morning and the end result was that it is not a very serious problem so I can stop worrying too much about it. There are things I have to do and to cut down booze is one of them. It took ages as I was sent for an x-ray and missed another procedure and the technician got all stroppy with the nursing staff and I ended up in the middle of a row between some of them! I may complain! That's all you need when you are worried and have high blood pressure.

Off on holiday tomorrow with DSs so won't be around until Friday 10th. I won't be AF but will try to curb my habit of drinking before we go out in the evenings.

    So all the best peeps.

    DB x

ETA. Love to Cazza. It is very hard breaking up and losing your home.
I hope it works out well in the end for you.

Just wanted to say thankyou all for the very kind posts and messages that I have received :A

I am not staying, but I just wanted to thank everyone.

I haven't had a drink all week and I do not intend to.

Feeling very sad and somewhat changed?

I shall be back, but for now I just need to have some time alone.

Again your love and support is lovely and very much appreciated.

    God Bless and take care

I think good for you :T If you know it's not a permanent thing then it's good you feel sorted enough to walk away to pursue stuff on your own :)

Tho, if you don't mind me asking, what do you do? If you've said before then I'm v.sorry that i've forgotten

Thanks for your support, little HB. I do market research, been working full time for the past year, and I'm exhausted. What do you do?

BTW, I'm loving hearing about Jo's boss ... kerrrching and all that - really makes me lol!!!!

CAZZA: Hope you feel stronger soon. Try to be easy on yourself and take it one day at a time.

Cazza - lovely to have you back but very sad about your news. I am sure that things will and can improve and you will find a way to have your beloved cat back living with you. You were my inspiration pretty much exactly one year back so I know you can do what ever needs doing.

Perhaps I should have that jewlery box next to the pudding as by the time it was ready to come out of the oven I didn't have time to let it cool down to put the filling in and roll it. So when I got to my friends with it it had cooled down too much so wouldn't roll. We ended up having it flat with the filling on top. It was delish thou.

Declaring day no 1 completed. Back to the routine tomorrow :)

Budgie - even if we can't see our animal friends anymore it doesn't mean that they are not here with us.
