Direct Debit day today (gas/electric and TV Licence), so also topped up groceries to the tune of £10.15
as well as milk (50p for 4 pints, and 6p discount for buying 2), chips, garlic baguettes, bananas and ice-cream the groceries also included
2kg porridge oats, 1kg value muesli and 1kg raisins for various variations of Twinks
and
3 packs of Best Florentines from the staff shop at [strike]£2.99[/strike] 10p/pack, 2 packs of carrot cakes slices from the staff shop for [strike]£2.34[/strike] 20p, a pack of 8 Act!mel drinks for [strike]£2.40[/strike] 39p and a pack of 7 Flor@ Pro-Activ for [strike]£3.89[/strike] 39p
I was tempted to go back for last bread Whoopsies, but was shattered when I got home and didn't even start thinking about making tea until after 7pm - so didn't make the Whoopsie hunt. Didn't really need to anyway as I have several loaves of various types (including a plain white which is DSs preference) in the freezer, so it actually saved me an unnecessary spendCheryl0 -
Unfortunately it's been a spend day for me today
I owed a workmate £2.50 that she put towards another colleagues 40th birthday pressie for me and DH wanted a tenner (but I might get this back he said - ohh look a flying pig)
Tomorrow will definitely be a spend day as I need bread, milk and to send a letter recorded signed for but hopefully I won't then need to spend until Saturday.

Next Saturday should actually be fine for me - OH is busy all Saturday/Sunday with his darned hockey, so I'm only seeing him Friday night. Just not sure what time I'll be home from taking DD & GDs out for the day, so I'm hoping you hang around lte enough for me to come and join you
Don't worry Cheryl, we'll wait for you!! I'll be nipping off for a bit to watch the footy after i've settled the rabble with cider & quad bikes so sympathy to the poor chavs who will be left in charge!!! :rotfl:solventsoon wrote: »:hello:BDINI: signing you up for 16 now - last month was hardly a disaster bearing in mind how much you had going on, I think you did really well. Hope your friend is OK?
Aww thanks Spoon, yeah she's ok, was a lovely weekend, although i spent far too much (yep you've guessed it, mostly on  )solventsoon wrote: »Agree with Keiss, Jo, the aim of this challenge is to help you spend less so if you want to separate your grocery spends off into a separate budget and it helps you, go for it. Like Keiss, my main spending happens at the supermarket and that's what I'm trying to target, so I include it, but a lot of peeps here have a separate budget for groceries and don't include it.
I agree it's almost always the grocery shopping i have to watch when i go over budget, but you sound so in control of your grocery budget Jo, i guess the only way to know what works is to give it a go for a month, if you're grocery spends go up then you could include them again at that point?
Oh & i know it's a bit late but well done for getting debt free!!!!
(((((Big hugs))))) to everyone with poorly pets & family members, hope they are all on the mend soon xx
I've not got one yet, but i knew that would happen, will try to get back on track soon just need to grab some fruit for work & then i should be clear till Saturday... fingers crossed!!!February NSD challenge 5/150 -

Just been looking back at my NSD records for the year to date, and am amazed what a difference joining this challenge has made :T
In 2009 I only counted grocery spending days.
In 2010 I've counted groceries, groceries+toiletries/cleaning+'anything else' (CDs, DVDs, books, clothes, magazines), and everything including all my regular payments/Direct Debits.
The following shows
month : 2009 figure : 2010 groceries : 2010 incl t&c and anything else : 2010 everything
Jan : 10 : 15 : 14 : 10
Feb : 6 : 19 : 17 : 15
Mar : 6 : 16 : 16 : 12
Apr : 12 : 12 : 12 : 10
May : 15 : 21 : 21 : 18
June : 12 : 18 : 18 : 15
July : 17 : 24 : 24 : 24
This gives me totals to the end of July of
78 : 125 : 122 : 104
Given I came into 2010 with the intention of achieving 132 NSDs in the year while not counting my regular bills/Direct Debits as spends, to be at 104 by the end of July including those payments has me totally gob-smackedAnd if I count the version I intended to, then I'd have been at 122 meaning only another 10 to get in the last 5 months of the year

Me again!
Just back from vet - dog has def got kennel cough, so antibiotics and cough mixture for him £50 (incl consultation)- antacid for cat to sooth his tum £10, they're both at present crashed out so all is quiet here
. Vet has agreed to put cat back on diet of old faithful Whiskas so got my money back for the posh food. Im off to have a sandwich and a cuppa and a bit of a lie down as well! Putting my debit card in the freezer to let it cool off, it's been used so much lately its red-hot:rotfl:
Oh dear - 2 of our doggies were coughing after we picked them up from kennels on Saturday night - and still a bit yesterday but seem OK today - we are hoping they do not have kennel cough. We asked about vacinnation before they went in, knowing how pups hate it being squirted up their nostrils, but kennels said they do not recommend it as you can only cover one type when there are 3 types they can get. I'm hoping they are all OK tomrrow, otherwise I will get appointment at vets to check them out. Hope your doggie is improving and that kitty is OK now diet sorted out
Well, I've yet to record an NSD this month - Sunday was car boot and fruit & veg, and today was food shopping and slimming club, but I did pre-pay for 6 weeks (pay for 5 weeks and get 6th free) so Mondays should be NSD's after this week in August
I have decided to set £5 aside for cafes to cover Tuesday car boot & occassional cuppas at auction, but if I go over this, then I will cont as a spend. Cuppas on Friday and Sunday count anyway as I do food shopping on these day. Other than this, every spend other than Direct Debits/Standing Orders counts - including food, clothes, diesel, misc, and I am going o try to plan DD/SO's from next month so that I count them too.
That said, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday should be NSD's this week - will be back to report
P.S. Spoon, could you check back on July's thread 'cause I updated it with my two extra NSD's I got while on holiday, and I am getting withdrawal symptoms, so could do with that refilling champagne bottle - ta very much petalMr 3Dogs 3-7-12
