There's 11 days left in August and I have to find another 5 NSD's in that, gah I feel totally demoralised with it if the truth be told. I just worked out my SOA from my spending diary and there were a few skeletons lurking in that I would rather not have had to face!

Spoon please can I change the rules? Up till now I had counted not spending ANYTHING because I thought if I let DD's and debt repayments be included I'd just sneak things onto DD (I am a world champion at avoidance) I probably would too. It's clear to me I haven't got the will to get another 5 NSD's into this month on those rules. If I relax my rules so debt repayments and DD's don't count, then backdate that to 1st Aug so I can count any days they'd apply to is it cheating? Can I give myself special dispensation to just get through August?

August is a tough month for people who live in rural areas surrounded by holiday resorts, where there was once free parking to be found on the street you are now lucky to get into even the extortionate carparks and everywhere you drive takes hours/days longer than it should so no popping home for an early lunch if you're feeling peckish cos the jams are prohibative... Anyway I expect that's a rubbish excuse...

I'm struggling, do people think I can be allowed to change my rules for August or is it cheating? You can be honest. I will listen.
I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)

As of the last count I have cleared
    [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt. :(

hi hannah i dont count bills and regular debt payments in my nsds and i have arranged that they all come out on the first except 1
what i do include is everything else including the food shop

well yesterday was a small spend day as needed bread and milk, so popped into netto on the way home from drowning lessons, and they had button yoghurt 2 for a pound so i treated me and the 3 things to one :D
also oops how on earth did that big bar of dairy milk end up in my basket :rotfl:
and a few other treats, well man cannot live on bread alone, still only came to £11 though
If we can put a man on the moon...how come we cant put them all there?

Can I ask how much you paid for his booster Tamrin? Someone mentioned they paid about £50 or £60 for their dog's jab the other day and I thought "What??" - we have 3 dogs (bet you did not guess that did you?) but we pay £25 for a booster and health check, so wondered what others pay

3Dogs - it was me that posted about dog boosters. I had our dog for his on Monday and I was £71, that includes kennel cough.I darent not get the KC as he's just had kennel cough and it wasnt pleasant. He wasnt in kenneLs BTW. I've got the cat to take today and his wil be around £60 I believe! Those prices are about average here!
Can I come and stay with you?:rotfl:
It's interesting to hear what other folks pay, sounds like we are paying over the top here.

Good morning all - reporting NSD# 10 for yesterday!
Should be another today, Im taking cat to vet for boosters but I paid for them the other day, so provided I dont spend anything else it should be a NSD. Cant be bothered going to shops today.
Feeling a bit knackered as yesterday at work I spent the day packing boxes with files for archiving. It was meant to be a team effort but the other two managed to invent lots of "very important " jobs to be done, so muggins here did the whole lot on her own. I was very:mad::mad::mad:. I did make my feelings clear after I'd done it though.
Im on holiday now till the 31st so very happy. OH is not off so next week Im going to check out some of the art exhibitions that are on in Edinburgh ATM. It's Festival time here, so the city has a good buzz about it!

    Have a lovely day everyone:)

    Number 9 for me yesterday.

Interesting to hear you all comparing vets prices as I work at one, nice to hear we're competitively priced! For nail clips its worth asking if your surgery hold a nurse clinic - a qualified nurse will clip them for free, or a small donation to charity.

Hope you are OK Spoon and not working too hard :) xx

My vets showed me how to do this myself - I paid (can't remember how much, but wasn't excessive) for the clip they did as the 'lesson', and then I bought my own clippers.

Saves a fortune in the long run (think the clippers cost just over one bill from the vet, so in profit by the time I'd done the second), but definitely only something to try yourself if you're confident enough not to cut too high (and that your animal isn't likely to wriggle too much)

I mainly needed this for the Yorkie (every couple of months, as she was getting too old to walk outside for long enough to wear them down), and I used to have to muzzle her (had to do this at the vets as well, so not just me she didn't like doing them) and then have DS hold her tight while I did some of them - certainly couln't have done it all single-handed. The Dalmatian doesn't need doing anywhere near as often (possibly once every 12-18 months unless he splits one in the meantime, which has happenend), but he'll just sit and let me get on with it :)
