    Hiya

    Was this the final decision?
And did they enclose details of the financial ombudsman service (FOS).

If they enclosed the FOS details, then I would make a complaint to these by either downloading and printing off a complaints form from their website, or ring them to make arrangements for them to post on out to you.

If you've not been given the final decision, ask them to reconsider and give any further information that applies to you to help.

    Good luck.

  • They're saying they 'regret' to advise me that they're unable to to issue a refund.

Took the covers in 2007, lost my job in 2008, they told me that the cover doesnt cover me if I quit my job, like I did, though they didnt tell me this at the time. I then borrowed £800 from my Mum to clear the debt. Used the credit card again to get my season ticket at Old Trafford amongst other things, told the person on the phone I didnt want it as it didnt cover me last time. They saying I coulda canceled at any time as it was on my statements.

In the letter they sent me, it also says the PPI is still active on Mr Bolton's account.. I havent got a clue who Mr Bolton is!!

I would write back and enclose a "copy" of the letter you received and highlight their mistake on MR BOLTON!
    That does not seem right.

And ask them again to reconsider, and if you did not understand how these policies worked at the time, tell them that too, maybe if they explained how it worked when you taken this out, then you would have known your rights on the policy.
Tell them you were not given an option at the time of the sale.

Ask them to get back by 14 days, and if you hear nothing by then you will make your complaint to the FOS.;)

  • I'm 99.9% sure I didnt ask for the PPI on my new card because I knew it didnt cover me last time. In the letter they ramble on about their 'specialists' doing everything by the book and stuff. I remember it was an Asian man who wouldnt take no for an answer, giving me all the crap about card theft an stuff.

  • And could I say:-

Could you please refund all of my payments since July 2008 as I've been unemployed since then according to you I should be covered with your policy so I'd like to make a back claim

I do think its worth writing to them again and asking them to reconsider, basically you were pressurised into taking this out and it was worthless to you anyway.
Write anything you think that would help.;)

  • Best jump on the other laptop and knock up a mock letter! Cheers for your help again Di
