  • Thanks for the comments regarding my '101 things' list. You will notice it doesn't include walking the Great Wall of China or seeing the pyramids etc. Yes, I'd love to do those, but I know I won't be able to afford it in the next 2.75 years so maybe they will go on the next list :rotfl:

    Morning (ish!)

    I am now family -free!!:j:j:j
The house is lovely and quiet - dog is sleeping and OH playing on PS3 upstairs - just me downstairs - bliss!

    So far today I have...
    • Got rid of visitors
    • Taken mum on a little trip out to show her the area I'd like to move to
    • Cleaned carpet where dog was very helpfully sick on this morning:mad:
    • Hoovered house
    • Cleaned kitchen
    • Taken stuff out of freezer to defrost for tea
    • Made family a packed lunch to have on their 250 mile journey home
    • Walked dog
    • One wash in now
    • Taken a big deep breath of relief!
    And I will....
    • Check banks - urgghhh!
    • Do the 2 surveys in my inbox
    • Clean the bathrooms
    • All food from stores apart from a can of pop that was essential this morning!:o
    • Maybe sand down paintwork in bathroom ready for painting
    • Tidy clothes in bedroom
    • Have a quiet night in with OH
    • Have a nice bath later
    • Do a budget for August - not hard when you have no money!
PS. I did make the cheese straws - although they were more like round biscuits for me - very yummy and very easy to do (and I can't cook!).

Hope everyone has a nice peaceful day and a rest!

    UPDATE

Lazy day so far as OH and I went to a party last night - no hangover, but feel tired due to being unaccustomed to going out evenings and being late back :o I am normally too worn out due to work and just collapse in a heap / do the housework / gardening etc.

Therefore only seen to animals, read news online & been to car boot with OH so far :o

But, must get bum in gear and do the following:

Check banking and do spreadsheet for month

    [STRIKE]
Ironing :eek: - illegal, but I am running out of clothes
    [/STRIKE] DONE
    [STRIKE]Dusting - OH hoovered yesterday[/STRIKE] OH did it :D

[STRIKE]Pick tomatoes and dry some [/STRIKE]OH has done it :T

[STRIKE]Pick beans [/STRIKE]and freeze OH picked them and I will freeze in a minute

Sow lettuce seeds in trough Still to do

Make some blueberry muffins Still to do

Make tea from stores and garden Still to do

Bake pies for OH and DS to take on fishing trip tomorrow

Perhaps I can interest OH in a couple of these jobs - though this looks unlikely as he is currently snoring in the armchair :rotfl:

    He woke up :A
  • Do you use branded soya mince or can you get other stuff??? I've only ever seen Quorn - does that work out a lot cheaper?

Shh, but I sometimes chuck in some porridge oats/oatmeal too, definitely bulks it out :p

You get 375g bags of dry soya mince in Mr T for 99p - It lasts for ages - usually with the wholefoods stuff like cous cous etc - you do have to look for it - looks wierd tastes ace :)

I do the porridge bit in chicken things and in curry :)
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
    minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
    :money:Sleeves up folks.:money:

i hope you all realise that you are not supposed to reheat rice??? it contains bugs that release toxins when heated. so the more you heat it the more toxins in it (sorry i have just done a food hygiene course in work) its probably one of the biggest causes of food poisoning from buffets and takeaways although normally people would blame the chicken

Yeah, my mum told me that too but sounds like it's actually what happens to it before you freeze/reheat it that matters. If you're cooking it to freeze into portions chances are you won't be leaving it out at room temperature for long so should be ok.
