Sat/Sun 31st/1st July/Aug!!!!! - What small DFW things have you done today?

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important
That was a complicated title!

yay its the weekend, and I intend to not over do chores this weekend! Went shopping last night so that's done and oh & I are trying out a new things where we "make every room we go into a little nicer" and not mess it up as we do currnetly! We're hoping this way we will be doing chores at a minimum! we'll see my natural inclination is to be messy

- go bowling later on (expensive but needing qt with dd) decided to go out for lunch instead
- [STRIKE]have bought drinks & mini doughnuts for cinema[/STRIKE]

- [STRIKE]make muffins & banana cake while cooking roast and freeze portions for the week[/STRIKE] made muffins this morning (leftover cherry's that needed using up, left over chocolate I chopped up & dessicated coconut
) & banana cake is in the oven with the chicken
- hm bread
- hm flavoured bread
- going to watch the regatta tomorrow

- sign up for August GC
- have worked out debt repayments and have brought my DFD forward another month so hopefully if I continue I will be in the black in Oct! :j
- make cheese strings
- make students sandwiches for the week & freeze

- [STRIKE]super speedy tidy of the lounge & kitchen[/STRIKE]

Enjoy your hols Lottie
So today/tomorrow I will/have:
-Washing & will line dry towels.
-Do shop from list, and due to supplies in store I have to make a very "loose" list
I can never rely on everything being available.
-15 mins on CT though I'll try and do twice that each day
-£8.65 coming from Quidco
Unfortunately it was £13.65 but apparently my annual £5 was due - can't believe I've been doing it for FOUR years :rotfl:
-Beginning to reduce the amount of time the heater is on and the fire alight as it's getting warmer here :j
-gaze in wonder at the teeny weeny seedlings that have escaped being eaten by the birds :rotfl:
Have a great day/weekend everybody :A0 -
Morning all!
Visitors are doing my head in!!!
A week is a long time to give up your house for! I now have mum, sis and their dog (dad is wisely playing golf away). I can see OH is trying very hard to be tolerant but is slowly losing patience! Me too!
It gets worse - MIL, FIL and SIL are coming for lunch today too and they always stay for ages too.
This time tomorrow hopefully the house will be back to normal - can't wait!
So today...- Hoover and dust downstairs - again!
- Tidy kitchen
- Walked dogs already
- Go out for lunch with the whole clan
- Pop to shop for extra milk (where do they put it all?) and a 5 min sanity break;)
- Entertain "guests"
- Try to stay sane!
January grocery spending - £82.73/ £1200 -
Rachel (())) - it is a long time, can you and OH sneak off for a quiet walk or something just the two of you?

Have a good day everyone! No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!
Thanks to everyone who posts competitions. You are the stars of the board :T:j:T0 -
Right list time for me (sorry its a long one, skip it if you like, its just me rabbitting on!!!)
Making spag bog with beef mince and soya mince (2 cups soya to 1kg mince) - chuck in the soya mince when browning meat and no one knows the difference
also using this meat/tomato base to divide up and make chilli as well, using chick peas instead of kidney beans as we've too many tins of chick peas (why do I buy them?)
Used two veggie stock cubes to one beef (no one here to see) and again I seem to have many veggie stock cubes so they need using up
Making mince beef as well and will use soya with that - and use up the old spring onions from the fridge with some other onions, and a very manky looking half a neep! And using veggie stock cubes!
Cooking up a bag of rice (1kg) and will divide up into portions and freeze later (makes me buy less takeaways if there is rice already to make into something
Also making a cake, figure if the cooker is going crazy I'll make the most of it! Use up eggs! (hens now laying alot!)
All of this stuff will be portioned up and then frozen/used for lunches/teas
Chicken out the freezer and thawing in the fridge (thanks Olive!)
Same for some reduced sausages
Must get some milk today as we've just used the last from the freezer
Took some 'sour' milk home from work (just off) and will use that to make scones, or freeze it (LABEL it properly FAY!!) and use it later ot make scones - sour milk works better and they were just going to chuck it out!
Clean out hens
Sort out bird table
Have a long shower and condition hair with free sample
Use up OLD face cream (marigold and beeswax organic stuff) on the pine table as a polish - add some essential oil to it to make it smell lovely - its way old for using on my face, but when I read hte ingredients - sounded more like wood polish and I used it before - so it worked like a charm - saves on buying more stuff - sure the table will appreciate it??
Made a full pot of coffee so use that up over next couple days
Hand wash a few bits there's only me here - so I've just got a bit of washing
Post some letters
Write a list for a few supplies
See if I can get back into my internet banking - it went bonkers last night
Check amazon listings
Put more things in the ebay cupboard
Take my hoover ot old house, lodgers move out tomorrow so I can get my stuff organised finally
See OH
he arrives at half ten
Take him on a long walk with the dog
Toilet to clean - did someone mention using vinegar?
Tidy up kitchen and wipe down sides
Load up dishwasher and chuck it on with half a tablet
Finish the garden bird/border thing
Watch a garden programme on iplayer
go through a bit of post and write a few more change of address things
feed tomatoes and pick them to freeze
feed chillis and encourage them to keep setting fruits not drop their flowers
Feed other bush tomatoes and encourage them to grow more flowers
pick more basil and freeze it - think about doing the same for the sage - its going bonkers
Its really all picking, cooking and freezing isnt it today with me??
I hope you are all great!!
