Today I feel like I've got a task and a half on my hands:

    • Batch cooking - chicken pieces and something else with beef mince
    • Tidy out 2 or 3 cubes in living room unit
    • Go through 2 shelves in bedroom
    • More HC (at the launderette???)
    • Friendly footie match thingy with OH...
    • List 2 or 3 things on e bay
    • Start (again! :o ) the blanket I'm knitting
    • Update spending diary - August has got to be a better month than last! :o
    • Compile honeymoon packing list :D
    • Check banking and pay what I can to cc
    • Wedding planning but no spending! Looking for a hairdresser (and mum is paying on the day :A)
Lastly I need to keep an eye on the fridge  Currently 13 degrees!!! Think it's busted again! :( Have insurance on it (because I've had so many problems in the past) but still a hassle to get the guys out - last time it took 5 visits to figure out it needed a new circuit board!

    Happy Sunday y'all!

Oooh, do tell... Sounds like just the kind of thing I need for my packed lunch!
  • Congratulations Wee_Jo on becoming debt free :j:j:j

I saw your entry on the Roll of Honour. It’ll be years before I can post on that exclusive board, but it’s something I’m determined to do!

  • Hi everybody

Fay I love your rice tip. I might start boiling/freezing some portions. Good for work lunches too. We've been really bad recently and started buying those microwavable pouches... :o No reason why I couldn't do something like that (flavour/ingredients-wise) and freeze it...

Sorry about my waffle of a post! Not very coherent or in any sort of order!

    Post tomorrow. Night all xx

Escy is a tired old soul :)

Hey there good luck with the honeymoon planning

The rice/pasta/couscous make lots and freeze it tip I got from Sophiesmum - she use to do the thread a while back :D so I'm not really the one to thank

To be honest, thesedays I always cook a whole pot/bag of all that kind of stuff and freeze it - kids use it up after school and i use it for mine and OH (when he's here) lunches

Also means tea is much quicker if you've the rice/pasta/etc already done :)

The adding the soya mince thing came from here as well (Mbaz thread), if you chuck it in when browing beef/pork/chicken mince - no one can tell - my lot prefer it that way now its a bit lighter and I suppose healthier? Of course it makes the mince stretch further as well

Everyone was really busy yesterday :)

Wasn't much of a NSD for us yesterday but OH paid for most things - and I got 3 pairs of jeans/cords from the charity shop - £2 each and all M&S :D

Lodgers move out of the old house today so we might do a final push on getting that empty!
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
    minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:
    :money:Sleeves up folks.:money:
  • I'm not sure if this link will work, but this is my on-line list. A good deal of it revolves around finances and setting up a business as I hope to be debt free and self employed by the end of the 1001 days! :D

If the tick is green then it's completed. If there is an orangy type circle it's started and a greyed out tick hasn't been started/done yet. As you can see, I'm not doing too well at the moment! :o

You've inspired me Stitchy, I'm going to get a list together :D. I think I'll focus my first items around having some fun as I'm not very good at this..lol..:)

Do you use branded soya mince or can you get other stuff??? I've only ever seen Quorn - does that work out a lot cheaper?

Shh, but I sometimes chuck in some porridge oats/oatmeal too, definitely bulks it out :p

  • So, to make a start, I will:
    • Check bank & update spreadsheet for July - done
    • Set up budget spreadsheet for August - done, it's going to be a very tight month :(
    • Make an extra payment to A & L CC – done
    • Any surveys - none
    • Find recipes for stuff marrow and ratatouille, will cook these later with DS - made both recipes and they turned out really well! There's plenty of ratatouille left over too, some for today and some to freeze :D
    • Lots and lots of HC (3 teenagers and all off school…) – 2 loads done & out, another in machine
    • Clean my bedroom - done-ish

    Morning all

Been up early today to see OH and DS off to golf. DS is playing in a tournament today and is in with a good chance of getting a prize. I’m going to cheer him on a bit later today :D.

Determined – I know what you mean re the togs. It’s a constant battle to spread £50 a month between 5 of us and it’s mostly me and OH who have to make do!

    List for today:
    • Check bank & update spreadsheet - done
    • More HC, hope the weather holds up - one on line, a few more to do
    • Relist items that didn’t sell last week on ebay
    • Find some more stuff ready to put on ebay
    • Enough ironing so we have clothes for work each day next week
    • Draw money out of Paypal - done
    • Pay DM for fruit & veggies
    • Quick shower
    • Put some treats in kitchen cupboard later today from stash I’ve hidden in my bedroom (if I don’t do it this way, the kids would eat them all in one go!)
    • Fill a bag for the CS
    • Split cash into relevant jars for the week and remember to put aside £20 towards trip to Alt0n T0wers later this month
    • Clean green beans and cauliflower to use or freeze later today
Think that will be enough as I'll be out most of the afternoon.

    Have a good day all.

A quick clean around and do bathrooms
Do work list for tomorrow, I need to get organised and back in swing of things.
check ebay items finishing tonight, one is definately going, other has watchers.
    Wash all towels etc.
    Clean oven
dd going to walk up to nan's about 4 miles so I will walk the dog part of the way with her, company for her exercise for me and the dog. Dad can pick her up on way home from work
