Seems £1000.00 increase is almost always agreed, though the CS have to contact the credit department.
One thing interesting is that I was allowed to BT full credit limit. My experience with any other card was always around 90% or a £100 reserve.Mark Hughes' blue and white army0 -
I got my card today credit limit of £4000, got through to a call centre in India to activate the card.
At first I was told that my offer was 0% for six months, as the 3.9% lob only applied for applications made in the first week in september. After speaking to a supervisor he stated that I could have the 3.9% lob. But he then refused to increase my credit limit to the £1000 others on this thread have stated that have been able to get.
I was also asked for the 3 digit number on the back of the card is this usual?
I will call back another day and try to get the extra credit limit, I only need an additional £300 to clear my LTSB CC.0 -
We got our card today. My OH rang to tell me £1.5K, but then said it was really £6K (he has a funny sense of humour (sometimes)). We were amazed to be honest. In a very big dark hole - but this will help us crawl out a little bit.
We got our pin last Saturday, then our card today (Thursday) - and we are based in Channel Islands, not UK.
My really silly question is - should I assume we can transfer the full amount of £6K to the new M&S.
Also, what are our repayments likely to be... I did not tick the box on the form for payment protection.
I keep logging into this site while at work so I haven't got the time to read every bit of info. and if I did I might be shot at dawn tomorrow - so any help on my little questions above would be brill.0 -
Hi Bertie's mum

Let hope they are not trying to move the Goal Posts at this late stage:mad: You should have asked to be put through to someone in a UK Call Centre, they are suppose to do this when requested.

I got mine today with a measly limit of 2000, least ever in my life, can't remember having such a low limit since my student days, called them and were not willing to review the limit.0

Same thing happened to me although they did offer to bump it by £1k but that was it. I think the fact that I have 2 other CC's plus a large OD facility plus loan was the reason. Even though my credit history is good and you would have thought that might go in my favour, it was pointed out that my available credit (if i decided to go mad with the plastic) was already £17k so that probably was the basis of their decision. Maybe the same for you?0
