The staff wouldn't know. When I worked in Comet we didn't even know a sale was coming until the delivery of the posters the day before which we put up that night. The prices were not given to us until that morning and we had to change the price tags before store opening.Green and White Barmy Army!0

I suspect this is why they don't tell the floor staff in advance. If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0 -

I'd cope with that guilt by buying myself a few beers with the extra commission I earned.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
None of the DSGi staff are on comission, and even if they were I highly doubt it would be enough to buy several beers from one sale.Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.0

sales floor staff never get to know whats in the sale until the evening before or on the day, so no other competers find out giving the store the edge on the sale At christmas usually these large companies never realise whats on the boxing day sale until christmas day night, usually thats the first the staff know as well when they see them advitised on tv.
you can price match though within 7 days without any problem,if it has come down in price.0 -
I imagine it stops them telling relatives whats going to be a really great deal or even telling family/friends to come and buy all of the remaining limited stock and selling it on at a profit.
I know with the wii fits lots of stores had that problem. Staff were telling them when they were getting them in stock/on special. Ended up with a lot of stores not telling staff when they would be in stock and limiting the wii fits to 1 per customer. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
I found out about 3pm the day before when I was printing out all of the price tickets for the following day.
The promo plans published a few days earlier don't have any prices on, so although we may be able to tell what is going on offer, we can't tell what price it will be. And in any case, only a few people look at the plan, since most people won't be involved in setting it up.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
