Sorry to hear you're feeling down tonight, we all have days like that, it'll pass. Can you call or text the OH? Until then chat to your friends on here:grouphug:

been working out my budget for spends, this doesn't include food or petrol, do you think £60 is reasonable, it is pretty much all I can afford, I'm just worried it wont be enough...... this is for when I am home by myself and OH is away.

Do you mean £60 per month? I have loads of trouble with this spends budget, it's really difficult to work out and varies so much from person to person. Strictly speaking we don't need much more than food and petrol but living long term without any "luxuries" isn't realistic.

£60 to spare means you can have a few coffees or bottles of wine, a few exercise classes, a few clothes on the sale rails, a book or a cd, a trip to the cinema.....sorry I'm not entirely sure what you enjoy apart from the cupcakes and hens:). Basically I mean you can do plenty of things with £60 to spare but they will be fairly modest things as opposed to buying expensive concert tickets or going to posh restaurants. If you want something that's too expensive for your budget you might be able to get it by doing without everything else for the rest of the month, that's what I do anyway.

That's not so bad though and I'm sure the OH will treat you to a few things as well. A few years ago I went out with a guy who was really wealthy but most of the time we just sat home by the fire watching tv and getting takeaways. It sort of reminded me that lots of the most enjoyable things in life aren't that expensive anyway. If I won the lotto I'd still want to go to yoga class, you'd still want to bake cupcakes...

We are here for you hun (((((((((((hugs)))))))))))). You have changed jobs twice, budgets umpteen times and all while pretty much being on your own.

Don't be too hard on yourself, enjoy the icecream and wine, things will be better in the morning. x

oh lovelies bless you, I'm so hormonal you've just made me burst in to tears with your kind words.

Have text OH but haven't said too much about feeling down he just then feels bad for being away, and he can't help it its work, I think sometimes I think I'm superwoman and am then suprised when I can't do everything and then get disheartened and then don't bother at all, not a healthy mind set and one I need to get out of.

You're right with the budget Mags, £60 for the month. I've budgeted more for when OH is home to include maybe a night out and a cinema trip and maybe a coffee out or something like that, but he knows I'm on a tight budget bless him and we like staying in and cuddling up on the sofa in front of the fire in the winter. I'm hoping that if I see something nice I like then I can save my spends up and get it, just literally wont have the money to buy things whenever I want now.

I know things will be better in the morning thanks Pip, just feels rubbish right now.

    Thanks again for your lovelyness

    xx

Ideally if you could concentrate on the study during the months when OH is away and find a hobby, something like an exercise class one night a week. OH would probably like to know that you were happy doing things you enjoy while he's away. Cheery Daff is always doing cheery things like the dance classes that don't cost very much. Sometimes effort is required more than money.

Me too, I don't have the "get up and go attitude" Memorygirl has, although I do hope I'm absorbing a little bit of it from her.

Morning lovely, hope you're feeling a wee bit happier this morning. Lots of change for you like Pippajo says and it can't be easy so be nice to yourself and just do what you can.

Re the cupcakes Mum and Dad just bought me lots of baking stuff for my bday so I can start next weekdn once all the partying's out of the way. Very excited!

Your budget will be grand love, you just have to do the best you can with what you've got. My mate and I were just saying last night that once this weekends over and winter kicks in we are going to do our usual winter meet ups which are food and a bottle of wine at each others houses for cheapness and to save us freezing to death outside and that way you are still having a cheery time and a laugh for very little cash. We usually do it midweek to break up our weeks (and stop us drinking too much!)

Have a good day petal, whatever you do.

missy, hope you're feeling much better. Being hormonal is awful, especially if your OH is not there close to you. Just take it easy this weekend and relax, treat yourself and you'll feel better soon.
We just invested in a slow cooker today, can't wait to come back home and smell nice food:). I think that's gonna be my way of saving money on food as it came with recipes so will buy only what I use up!
  • Hey Missy. What have I missed? Have you got a TA job? I LOVE the naughtiest children in school! They are exhausting but wow, you get the biggest rewards! One of mine last week made me a book whilst I was off (I was told he would punish me for being off) and then had a massive breakthrough with another one who announced he had come in to fill in his diary because he wanted to hit someone but he was trying to control himself. I actually jumped for joy for him which made him laugh!

It is a massive emotional rollercoaster. It is exhausting being so exposed and I find myself ravenously hungry! Plus there is all the organisation and being up early. Kids are hard work, they operate on a different level to adults. They can read you energetically therefore you have to keep your energy up therefore you will get knackered.

Been a bit self absorbed recently so missed out on the diaries a bit. Hoping you're getting some real support from lovely friends who can feed you and make you laugh in the absence of OH xxx
