Hello, Merry Christmas, if not a little belated.:o:D

I'm so sorry I haven't been around, life has been a whirlwind and I don't seem to have stopped long enough to think let alone write my thoughts down on here. Thank you so much to all you lovely people checking in on me on here and asking if I'm ok. I'm fine but have been really poorly with abprolapse disc in my back and flu (not a good combination when you're coughing) then officially leaving the Military, settling into my new teaching assistant job, sorting christmas, buying a new house not buying a new house etc etc, it has been manic. Haven't managed to pay off my loan what with OU and Christmas things having just run away with me, but it will be paid off by my Birthday in September, I was hoping for sooner, but with taking a 2/3rds pay cut, £200 pm at debts is all I can find and that is cutting it very tight.:o

But I had the most lovely christmas and hubby was home which was wonderful:D, saw family, have eaten far far too much, diet starts Jan 1st and god do I need it!! I got lots of lovely cookbooks to try new recipes too, a pasta one so that I can use all of my lovely chook chook eggs, as well as Jamies 30 min meals, and waggamammas! So I will trying out all of them, watch this space for recipes etc.:D

But everything is starting to calm down a bit now (by the way sorry for any odd spellings or strange sentences am on rather strong painkillers which make it hard to concentrate!!!! feel like I'm in la la land most of the time!!) So I am trying to get my life organised and am thinking about my new years resolutions and what they should be, and I am racking up quite a big list:o. I had a look on daffs diary, and she broke her changes/plans down into sections of life and into manageable 1/3/6 month chunks, hope you don't mind me stealing your idea;) but I need to work on different parts of my life too. So far I have:

    Health/fitness:
Eating much more healthily, taking exercise and generally looking after myself a little better..... ok a lot better
    Money:
Pay off loan by my birthday, start saving for next OU course, sort out a spends budget and stick to it, get out of overdraft and stay out, make and sell stuff on ebay to top up earnings.
    Crafts:
Sounds a bit of a silly one I know but for ages now I have really wanted to start making things, but have finally got my sewing machine out and worked out how to use it, so am on my way!
    Studies:
This is so very important, I am doing my assignments and passing them but only just, not with flying colours like I am sure I am capable of, its just laziness and motivation which are holding me back. I'm going to set aside 2 hours a day to do my reading, and sort out a good place for me to study.
    Love:
Again sounds silly, but I get so imersed in myself and so grumpy so much of the time, my lovely husband really suffers and I really need to show him I love him more, he doesn't deserve a grumpy wife bless him!
    Looking after me:
I really need to start being the glam well groomed person I was, I have really let things slide, and now days my toe nails aren't even painted which makes me feel grumpy and frumpy and that wont do!
    Happiness/Optimism:
I really need to start looking on the bright side and not always being the grumbler or worrying so much about things, about weight and work etc.
    Friends/Family:
This is a big one, I need to stop saying no and start saying YES. I put off seeing friends because I'm tired (lazy!) or I leave early from my dads instead of staying over (which would save me money in petrol and make it so I had a nicer time) all these negative things need to STOP!
    Organisation:
I really really need to get organised in every aspect of my life, I need to organise my clothes and get rid of things I don't need, I need to organise my studies, my work space, my time, shopping trips/filling up with petrol etc etc, which would all save money. I need to organise my time better.
    Laziness/Tidiness/Motivation:
All of these things lead to a very boring and messy missy, the house is always a right state to the extent I live in fear someone might call round unexpectedly (don't get me wrong its not dirty or anywhere near "How clean is your house" standard) but for me who is a perfectionist in most aspects of my life having the house untidy is horrid but I am too lazy and unmotivated to do it!!! I think a lot of that has to do with diet and fitness and I don't have any energy.

I think that is it, everything is linked and I know if I sort one section the others will follow and fall into place. So these are the things I will be working on, so I intend to start a new diary in the new year and kick start all of these things. But next year unlike this year, I intend to stick to them! Am quite excited about my journey really, and I hope you will stick with me and offer your support as I go, I always appreciate and smile at the help and advice I am given on here.

    Here's to 2011 lets enjoy the adventure!!:T:j

    Lots of love

  • Hi Missy,

Just read your detailed update - all sounds good to me. Great to see the points broken down - it makes them really clear and will be more manageable this way too. Some great, but also realistic challenges too.

Will continue to check in on your progress - was a bit worried you were not coming back! Good luck and best wishes for 2011!

Good to see you back, sorry the absence has been because of health problems not just being busy, but welcome back to official civviedom honey. x
It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

oh thank you, am touched by your loveliness and warm wishes.

Kavics hun I missed you I will have to pop over to your diary and see how you are doing, enjoy the toenail painting, actually think I might have to go and do mine now, you have shamed me into it!!

Hey Rusty thank you for popping by, I always intended on coming back, but life just got in the way, but I missed you all then felt guilty that I had been away for so long that it wouldn't be right for me to come back, but after refreshing myself with some diaries I thought you might all find it in your hearts to forgive me.

Hello scuba my lovely thank you, I am on the mend but very slowly :(

I am so sorry for being away for so long, I guess I also felt bad that I hadn't reached my goal of paying off my debts by the end of this year, but I can't keep beating myself up about it. And next year is a new year afterall.

Have just been speaking to OH about goals and sorting our lives out or more my life and being more organised. We are going to sit down tomorrow night and have a long leisurely dinner and go through what we want out of next year, and I am going to sit down in a sec and make up a little timetable thing to help keep me on track.

Feel all light hearted (and light heated but thats just the pain killers lol) already at the prospect of the challenge ahead. Thanks for joining me on my journey.

    Much love

    xx

Been thinking about my timetabling, I'm thinking if I can do 2 hours of OU, 4-6 then an hour of tidying/ebaying/washing things that need doing basicially so thats 6-7. Then that gives me the rest of the evening to do whatever I like, be it reading or going on here etc, that is more than doable! So putting this into action is my first goal starting on tuesday x

Hey missy, not been around the diaries for a while myself - can really empathise with your post about getting yourself organised etc., I will be stealing your ideas for myself (apart from the study one), as I can be a right lazy mare sometimes (most of the time). Welcome back x

Hey Pippa, *waves* lovely to hear from you again.

The whole buying a house and not buying a house saga is still going on! We put a cheeky offer in on a house, and had it accepted, but the bank although said they would lend us the money, have now decided they wont. So looking into other ways of funding it. We had a big long chat last night and have decided to get the house we live in put on the market and try and sell that, then the mortgage thing wouldn't be such a problem. The huge sticking point was this house is a complete renovation project and we would have to live in a caravan for about 3 years, whilst we did the work, oh and amongst all that we're still trying for a baby! It is crazy I know, but the rewards would be sooo worth it.

Still looking into finances and monies etc.

Will be back later to update on the new year, new missy plans :)
