I know they have got tighter in recent years. Some other networks ask for deposits, friend of mine went to go on 3 a few years ago and the wanted £150 up front when they where 18.
Your son needs to get a small o/d with the bank on a adult acc and start building a good credit rating.
It does work both ways if he tucked him into a £75 a month contract for 24 months some parents would ring up moaning he is only 18 blah blah.
I fully agree most parents would do their nut if the phone company as you say "tucked them up into a £75 a month contract" this is why I set it up the monthly tarriff etc cost and duration.0 -

But we live in a world of 'computer says no', all the people can do is press buttons and pretend to be nice to you, they can't actually do anything the computer won't allow them to.I've given up trying to get my signature to work with the new rules, if nobody knows what the rules are what hope do we have?0 -

Maybe that's because the iPhone 4 I had for a week is the only phone I had incapable of making calls due to poor signal. I had a 3G for 2 years before and had no problems at all.timberflake wrote: »As if no other phones have ever cut out before! My Blackberry Bold 9700 did the same thing if you held it in the "wrong" place and so does my girlfriends HTC!
I agree other phones have problems, but nothing as bad as the iPhone 4, it amazes that people are still flocking out to buy a faulty phone and are happy to have it patched up with a bit of cheap nasty looking plastic.I've given up trying to get my signature to work with the new rules, if nobody knows what the rules are what hope do we have?0 -

You could learn quite a bit from one of my previous posts:Oscar_The_Grouch wrote: »Sing with me Kai: If you don't want an iPhone 4..... (clicky)In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0 -
Seconded..........
This lot are the marketing men's dream !
Errr.... The "marketing men's dream" is that a product will create so much feeling that even those that don't want the product get involved. In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0 -

Thank you Oscar
Big
How many times are you going to bang on about it!!
You had one it didn't worked for you and you got your money back.
Why do you take issue with other people having/ wanting them.
You admit yourself you enjoyed the 3g so you bought into the iphone at some point.
What r using now that so superior?0 -

I'm sure Big would like a Desire on Voda - they've just released an update that provides links to dating websites!!In the beginning, the universe was created. This made a lot of people very angry and was widely regarded as a bad move. The late, great, Douglas Adams.0 -

I think you'll find there are plenty more people banging on about how wonderful the iPhone 4 is, I'm just trying to balance it up a bit!
I have now got an HTC Desire and I'm so glad my iPhone was so poor that I had to take it back, because otherwise I would have missed out on so much. I'm not an Apple hater, I have had many Apple products right the way back to my Apple II, but this one is a complete lemon and Apple are not going to fix it, in the long run that will do more damage to their reputation than a recall to fix the problem.I've given up trying to get my signature to work with the new rules, if nobody knows what the rules are what hope do we have?0
