  • Grrrrrrr....so his employers have taken the money from him just not sent it on to the CSA??! That's just ridiculous:mad: And why does it take so long for the CSA to get it to you after - argh how frustrating for you. Good job we can manage without relying completely on their money isn't it??

I have everything crossed that lots of money arrives in your bank account when expected:D

I think the CSA wait for it to clear but as I understand it payment by BACS is cleared funds. Just an excuse to give them some breathing space to send it out I reckon.

I'm such an old cynic :D

The man from the CSA has just called back. He spoke to ex's employer and they said they were sorry, they knew they were getting behind and 7 weeks will be paid out on Friday. Once that's cleared CSA will send it to me. Should get it by Monday week. I would have rather had it this week especially as I am off Thursday and Friday but as long as it's on its way then when I get it, it will be a bonus.

It's a bit annoying because they said they have been deducting the money from him just not sending it on. I wonder if he knows this??? Not that he cares.

He should. Late payment of bills is a big sign of a company in financial difficulty.

Oh carp. I hope not. I think they are a massive company like Esso or BP. His old company was taken over by one of those (or v similar) last year.

I'm hoping that they are just being lazy because it's such a ballache for HR to administer maintenance payments.

Excellent pole class last night. I am starting to enjoy it again. I think a lot of it depends on who is in the class with me.

It's dry here today, although very windy but I'm still going to go for my 3rd run of the week at midday :)

I'm off tomorrow and Friday so we are going to get on the fast train and go and check out Westfield shopping centre and see what all the fuss is about. Could be expensive although dd tells me she is going to take her own money. Suits me. I have a £10 M&S voucher. My mum said she'll treat us to lunch.

£4 PAD to barclaycard. By the time my March payment goes in, I will be below the £900 mark :j

Lots of walking tomorrow at the shopping centre....I can feel my muscles toning up just at the thought :)

We haven't had broadband for 2 days...hopping on now in case it goes again

Thursday was great at Westfield. i didn't spend any money except on the train fares (£22.65) and some tea and cake for the three of us in M&S (£8.20). It's a great shopping centre, everyone seems to be really helpful like they are really proud to work there something which is sadly lacking in other places. It got so crowded though and I was pleased to leave at 3pm. We got the train back and it only took 13 minutes :T blimmin marvellous. However because I was too tight to pay for parking at the station it took us another 25 minutes to walk home. Still it was good exercise.:D

Yesterday DD and I did our food shop. I hadn't done a list which was just daft and we went to both L1dl and Ald1 and ended up £7 over budget and still forgot things :wall:. Not doing the list was my first error but if I'd just stuck to Ald1 which I know well I could have kept the costs down. No matter - we have plenty of food including lots of meat and fish so shouldn't need too much next week.

We went to the cinema in the afternoon and finally saw A Monster in Paris cost (£13.20) but we took our own drinks and microwaved our popcorn beforehand. Very :money:

Popped to the nearby outlet centre afterwards and spent £3.69 on misshaped chocs from the C@ dbury shop and £2 on a new mug for work from Wh1ttard (reduced from £4). It's very nice - handpainted with lots of mediterranean blues.

Can't believe it's only just gone 11. I had to get up early for the V1rgin engineer (who didn't turn up in the end because it seems they fixed it offsite) but at least it means I was ready early and have already stripped and changed beds, done most of the ironing and I've just heard the washing machine beep so the first lot of bedding is done.

Off out later to go to the library and to M's or S's (depends on which one I can face) to get the few bits I forgot yesterday.

I also might be about to do something extremely rash which I am going to give a whole separate reply box of its own because it's so fabby (to me at least) that I want it to feel special ;)

I am going to look at a house! There. I've said it.

I saw it on one of my apps on Thursday night and it's in a road I've always wanted to live in. It's priced at about what i think i would get for my house. I need to find out why it's priced at what it is as I would expect it to be a bit more. I realise I would have solicitors and EA fees to consider plus all the other moving related costs so i would need to do my sums.

The pics look good though. The living room and master bedroom look stunning, the kitchen, bathroom and dining room look a bit dated and there is a proper garden whereas what we have here is more of a yard.

I feel like I need a project and I've done everything here. This way i could put some value on the house.

There is so much against it but it really has given me food for thought. Problem is it is already under offer :( but the person is having problems getting a mortgage so they are still having viewings. The EA is having problems getting hold of the vendor to arrange a time for me to go round. Also I would have to get my house on the market and get a mortgage agreed in principle.

Am I mad? Probably :o. Am I excited? Definitely :)

  • Ooooh poles that is exciting, definitely:D
Is it near where you are now? Hopefully you'll be able to go and have a nosey soon. What an amazing thing that would be though, to move somewhere new. Is it any bigger than your current house? It'd be great for your girly to have a bigger garden:)

A very successful day shopping for you there - mine cost me a bit more on Thursday, but not over the top and it's nice to get out and have lunch with the girls.

It's literally 2 streets away. I like this area. We have been here nearly 5 years and I do love this house. I would never have considered moving but this new house is at a price I could afford (well, not afford exactly but just be as poor as I am now). I would say it is slightly bigger than this one if at all. The downstairs of this one is deceptively large. It is still 2 bedrooms. Most of the houses in that road go for about £25k more which would be out of the question. There is another there that is 3 beds and is up for £25k more but it has been on the market for about a year. I may consider viewing that one. You never know what their circumstances are. Thing is it has never had any pictures of the inside and I wonder if that is why they haven't had much interest.

I do feel like I'm being a bit silly - thinking of moving. I don't know if I've ever mentioned this but when I got pregnant I moved from a lovely 1 bed flat to a 2 bed house (obviously because I needed the extra space) which looked lovely when I viewed it in the summer when I was 3 months preg but was a completely different story when I moved in end of Oct and 6 1/2 months gone. I hated that house so much from the moment I moved in. I never felt happy there and stayed for 3 1/2 years until I could afford to move. Back in those dark days of Oct 2003 I would have given anything to live where I am now.

    Anyway let's see what happens.

Got a letter from Edf to say they are reducing my payment by £4 a month. Not bad for the winter bill :)

Also got a letter from the CSA detailing the payment schedule for the next year. It's not really worth the paper it's printed on. For a start it says I'll be paid weekly and that's never happened :rotfl:

To balance out all this 'good fortune' I also got a letter from the tax credits people to say that as from April I will no longer qualify :(. I didn't get much anyway and I did read about this the other day but wasn't sure whether as a single parent I'd scrape though :o. It was nice to get the extra credit every month to bump the bank balance up a bit. Still no matter.

Have sold a pair of shoes on ebay. Well, I have a bid at my starting price of £9 and I think they've got until Thursday so that's a little extra in the pot.

    £150 PAD to Barclaycard :)

Payday next Thursday. I've worked out my money and it will all be OK providing the maintenance goes in. We shall see..
