We didn't go to the town in the end. We got to the carpark and it is no longer free on Saturdays so we came straight home and I fell asleep on the sofa :o. We'll go back tomorrow when it is free.

Slight change of plan for dinner tonight. No stirfry, instead I'm going to use the same chicken and veg and put it in one of those shake n bake bags. We'll have it with rice. Should be ready soon. I had to put the oven on just to warm up the kitchen as I'm determined not to put the heating on during the day. It's just come on now and hopefully should all be OK now the plumber has done his stuff.

8 watchers on my ebay items. They end tomorrow.

Mortgage rate is a no go...for now. It will cost me about £3k in fees to change now. If I leave it till 1 July I won't get charged. It is rather galling because their base rate tracker is just 1.45% - at the moment I am on 5.99% . To be fair I took it out in October 2007 just before the pooey stuff hit the fan in relation to the sub-prime debacle in the US and no one knew which way the rates were going to go. I still remember the late 80's when my parents' mortgage rate hit 15% so couldn't risk that happening to me.

It has made me more determined to make a better decision this time and start overpaying.

You couldn't have made a better decision, unless you can forsee the future. You made the decision that prevented you encountering the unlikely (but painful) event of bankruptcy. This is what's often called a "Black Swan" event, and if people took more notice of them - we (the country, the world) wouldn't be in this mess.

So don't be hard on yourself.

    ...

I'll try not to be  At the time it was right for me. I wasn't paying any more than on my previous rate and I have to have the security of a fixed rate so I know what's going out of my account each month - no shocks! So annoying when everyone at work was saying how much theirs were going down each month whilst mine was static. I told them they might as well overpay but none of them listened - the fools!!

Right - must get moving. Have bathed and had tea and toast. Need to get face on and dry hair.

DD is upstairs playing schools and has her strict teacher's voice on...she's quite scary. Glad I'm not one of her [STRIKE]bears[/STRIKE] pupils ;)

Going to pop into town. I actually do need to spend some money now. Need to get some more make-up remover and some parcel paper for all my ebay stuff that's going to have loads of bids later

Will pop to my sister's this afternoon with some porridge oats. My nephew has chicken pox (we think) and I found an oaty bath worked really well drying up dd's spots when she had it.

    More ironing to do :(

List a few more ebay bits.

    Might dye my hair later......

Glad you have the boiler sorted but BOO to parking fees. We used to be able to park for free on Sundays in the streets in our town, but that suddenly stopped last year & they started charging 70p per half hour - puts me right off shopping :D

I don't know if anything could put me off shopping :D but seriously it must have a detrimental effect on the town when the massive shopping centre a few miles down the road has free parking.

We went into town and I took out £20 and treated us to lunch - £9.45  it was nice though. Then bought parcel paper (no bids yet :(), make-up remover, some 3 amp fuses and a birthday card. With a bit of bargaining with dd I managed to swap some of my change for some of her £2 coins :D

£6 to go in the hedgehog :)

3 more items listed on ebay and if last weeks stuff doesn't sell it's going straight back on, s0d the fees :D

Have cleared all the ironing :T

Going to watch Call the Midwife (I've read the books and they're really good), then Sherlock.

    I love my TV ;)

None of my ebay stuff sold despite all the watchers :( no matter it has all gone back on with some extra bits too and one thing has already created quite a lot of interest so I have high hopes this week.

£101 PAD to barclaycard (includes my monthly DD - so love it when that goes in).

Have entered a couple of competitions.

Have registered to do the 'shop and scan' thing so I hope they accept me.

Went for a run and it was freeeeezing again.

Pole class tomorrow so must epilate my legs :D

I think sometimes that ebay must get flooded with things for sale during free listing weekends...so some days there will be piles of things ending at the same time. Maybe just paying to list at times when it's not so overwhelmed with listings means your stuff will have more of a chance...maybe that's just nonsense but you never know:rotfl:And to be honest, the listings don't really cost a huge amount - it's their darn final value fees that rack up what we owe them;)
I really need to sort out a new signature!

Good point...I never thought of that.

Those final fees are a nuisance

Second run of the week done and pole class tonight. Am starting to feel like I've got back into the exercise routine now :)

£1.74 PAD to Barclaycard to bring the balance down to £1280 :) I've also amended my DD to £150 per month starting next month. I will continue to PAD though, it's a habit now!

I've been looking on the mortgage fee wannabe board and have taken copies of some spread sheets the someone has put on there. I think this will be my next challenge after clearing the credit card. As (hopefully) the credit card will be paid off just as I have to remortgage it will all be timed quite nicely for starting overpayments. I'm starting to feel quite excited by it! :o
