Our tree is coming down tomorrow. It will make the place look a lot tidier but I will miss the fairy lights so I am going to see if I can find a set in the sales that have a transparent cable that I can string up over the fireplace. I never put that fire on and they will look so pretty there.

No firm plans for tomorrow but vague list is as follows:-

    - Take tree and decs down and pack away in shed.
    - Take cards down and cut up for next year's tags :D
    - Drop what's left of cards in supermarket recycling bin
    - Source lights for fireplace

I have finally cleared the breakfast bar of all tat and filed or thrown away :j It's been dusted and wiped down and looks very grown up. In fact once the decs are down tomorrow the whole house is going to look and feel fab :)

Another NSD today (so far). That's a 100% record for this year ;)

DD and I went to Hobbycraft this morning - she wanted to spend some money on folders and stuff (for when she's playing schools).

Haven't managed to find any fairylights in the shops so far but have only been to 2. I've seen some on amazon but I want them NOW!!

Jacket potatoes for lunch and then we'll take the decs down.

Still a NSD despite popping to Morrisons, Sainsburys and B&Q on the quest for the (ever more elusive) fairy lights.

Followed possibly the country's worst driver in the Morrison's carpark. She was driving a massive 4x4, went to turn left then realised she couldn't make the bend and ended up doing a 3 point turn just so she could manoeuvre the thing round the corner . She ended up causing a bit of jam for the cars coming the other way but everyone was either just laughing at her or shaking their heads in dismay...

Tree and rest of decs are down and I have hoovered and polished and am now feeling very virtuous. The place looks so tidy and steamlined. I love it :)

Not feeling so virtuous about my diet. I haven't picked between meals at all but dd and I did have a massive bowl each of mint choc chip icecream. I'm eating some fruit now to compensate :o

Back at work tomorrow so if it's not raining I'll be out for a run at lunchtime.

Haha - when I just typed that ^^^^ it came out as 'a rub at linchtime' :rotfl:might do me some good......

Looking forward to Endeavour at 9pm - prequel to Morse....

Our meal was lovely. There was a bit too much stuffing for my liking but it was very tasty. Everyone else seemed to enjoy it.

    Meal plan for the week

Monday - sausage casserole and rice
    Tuesday - salmon pasta
    Wednesday - Scampi and chips
    Thursday - at Mum's
    Friday - Chicken Biryani
    Saturday - Cod Mornay
    Sunday - undecided.....

How do you do your chicken biryani? Curry goes down well here:D My annoying eldest wouldn't eat sausage casserole...says she's gone off sausages - how could anyone not like sausages?!:p She won't eat fish either so out goes the salmon pasta and cod mornay:o

I cheat and use those schwartz flavourful sachets but i don't use the whole thing like they say - it probably does 4 meals :money:

Chop an onion and fry for 3 or 4 mins, add 1 or 2 tsp of schwartz sachet mix and fry for further minute. Add cubed chicken breast (or turkey steak if you like) and fry gently until cooked. In the meantime cook some basmati rice until almost done and drain. Take chicken off the heat and stir in 2 tbsp plain yogurt (the recipe on the back of the sachet says use a tin of chopped tomatoes but an Asian lady i used to work with always used plain yogurt and it's lovely) put back on a gentle heat and stir in the rice for a further couple of minutes to heat everything through.

I really like this because it's so tasty and really quick :) the trick is to not overcook the rice otherwise it goes a bit porridgey.

Really busy today at work, hardly any time to browse the internet :( horrendously windy too so no run at lunchtime either. I have however been quite good foodwise. No snacking between meals, cut down to 1 1/2 sugars in tea (still quite bad :o but I like sweet tea), salad and houmous for lunch etc.

Got home and realised to my horror I have no clothes for work tomorrow so hastily doing a couple of dark washes.

My mum bought dd a new school coat in the sale in M&S for £9. It's really nice too. This means I can get her old 'Autograph' one washed and put on ebay.

Found €10 in my purse so i will change that up as I don't know when I'm going to France next so might as well benefit from it now.

Got some change today including 2 £2 coins so they will be going in the hedgehog for the laptop.

    £1 PAD to Barclaycard.

Still £5.80 on OnePoll - no time whatsoever to look on there today.

Got a couple of duvet covers to iron and then sort out name tape for dd's new school coat and then the night is my own :D

I have a pink shiny pig for my £2 coins...an unused piggy bank of dd2's:D You're ahead of me with the coins though!

Good bargain with the coat for your girly:D I have stuff to get listed on ebay - maybe this weekend I'll get round to ironing, photgraphing and listing - I want to see the bids roll in:rotfl:

Thanks for the biryani recipe - I have used one of those sachets before but I put the whole thing in and it was a bit strong:eek: And full of little seeds and bits (that dd1 poked about!). I might try it again the way you do it though, sure I have another sachet in the cupboard.

Another busy day at work....good though I suppose.

Got my first run of 2012 out of the way. It was bracing to say the least.

Thought I had another £4 for the hedgehog but that little plan was quickly foiled when I found I had to pay lottery subs this month :(. Speculate to accumulate I suppose.

DD had a good first day back so all smiles and hyperactivity when i picked her up this evening.

Have cleaned bathroom and washed towels. Am currently washing her old school coat. I really need to get rid of where I marked her name in biro on the label (not the washing label - it's a nice patch that's been stiched against the back of the coat but on the lining. Ive gone over it with Ace bleach and just hoping this wash fades it). i can't really sell it if I can't get her name out :(

    £1.01 PAD to barclaycard

STILL £5.80 on OnePoll  I don't think they like me anymore.

Stack of ironing to do - will find some good TV to watch while I do it :)

I've sold things with a name still vaguely visible on the label - as long as you point it out no-one will complain. Or could you colour a block over it in a permanent pen and point this out? I'd just say that this can be easily covered with a name tape;)

My onepoll went up slightly today - had about 35p of surveys. I'm desperate to hit the £40. Getting slightly obsessive with making pennies to go to the Kindle fund:D

I'm just watching One born every Minute, in my pjs, then will try get some kip before dd2 rolls in from the concert. Ironing at this hour, whatever next:eek:
