DD is watching Willy Wonka for at least the 8th time since it was on less than two weeks ago. We've had our takeaway and are all cleared up. We've dusted and polished and have nice clean beds for tonight.
She reckons she's going to stay awake to see the New Year in.....:rotfl:I'm not even sure if I'm going to make it
Thanks to everyone who has followed me through the good (and the bad) times this year.
See you all in 2012 :TIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
I seem to have fallen off the MSE wagon
I knew I couldn't last the whole year...
The Russian Dolls that i bought dd for xmas didn't come apart! Kind of defeated the point of them so we had to take them back to the shop. The manageress managed to prise them open making me look complete;y weedy. Because I was feeling lazy I said we'd get Burger King for lunch. This meant using some of the money earmarked for our takeaway tonight so I had to withdraw my last tenner
Of course we had to go to sainsbugs for it where I bought teabags and some cupcakes. I seriously have no willpower where buttercream is concerned.
This means no more treat money. All food and petrol is taken care of and all bills paid, there is just none left in the fun pot.
Still it could have been far worse - I almost treated us to a complete new set of bath towels
You have done so well. And to top that you have made me laugh out loud over the towels comment :rotfl:
Sitting here pretending to do inteligent stuff when I am reading MSE for all its worth to get me ready for the New Year but others in the house just do not understand!!!Living the dream and retired in Cyprus :j

I think this is the first year I haven't had a drink on NYE (apart from when I was pregnant) and do you know what I don't feel virtuous at all
I got into my PJs at about 9.30. When the clocks struck 12 I just poked my head out of the door for about 10 seconds to let the new year in then shut it and watched the fireworks accompanied with sound from the house 2 doors down - like Beirut it was.
In the spirit of being more organised I have already this year:-
- Updated my diary with all birthdays and school dates
- Updated calendar with same
- Exchanged contents of old handbag to new
I'm off to bed now with a cup of tea and the TV - rock n roll.....It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
The 'birds' are in the oven and the veg is prepped. I've told mum, dad, my sis and nephew to get here for 2 with an aim for eating at 2.30.
Just time for a quick cuppa and a mooch on here. I need to have a quick tidy up but I reckon if I just work through the ironing pile (2 sets of bedding and 2 skirts) the room will look much tidier. It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -

Thanks for thinking of her. She is doing ok and no a and e but I think she will have to see doc again Tuesday if she doesn't pick up a bit more.

That's something then. There have been some shocking coughs around the last few weeks. Let's hope she improves before Tuesday. It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
Our meal was lovely. There was a bit too much stuffing for my liking but it was very tasty. Everyone else seemed to enjoy it.
Meal plan for the week
Monday - sausage casserole and rice
Tuesday - salmon pasta
Wednesday - Scampi and chips
Thursday - at Mum's
Friday - Chicken Biryani
Saturday - Cod Mornay
Sunday - undecided.....:think:It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0
