  • Wow, £33 on food shopping:D I went to do mine this afternoon....£91, yes £91:eek::eek: But...I did get blank cd-r discs for £6, sparkly bits for school £2, tub of Celebrations £4.50, wine £4:o Still a lot - but I didn't shop last week so had to stock up. Grrr...food just getting so expensive. T's say they're cheaper - but the pack of T's easy cook rice I usually buy was £1.69..what on earth??! It's usually 99p I think...and they had the cheek to have the price as lowered from £1.99...never:(

You have had a very busy evening - I've been on my backside on the sofa trying to do the Big TV puzzle thing with dd2 in the lovely new Xmas Radio Times:beer:

Bedtime now - have a fab family time tomorrow:)
I really need to sort out a new signature!

Food IS getting very expensive. I remember the prices so I know when things go up! Ours was only this cheap because I actually have most things in for this week. Need to go easy next week as I only have £21 left in the grocery account

    This week's meal plan:-

Tomorrow - out all day at mum and dad's so no need to worry
    Sunday - sausage casserole
    Monday - chilli
    Tuesday - salmon pasta
Wednesday - scampi, chips and sweetcorn
Thursday - at mum and dad's
Friday - Work Xmas party so already paid for.

It looks a lot like last week's but that's mainly because I already have most of the stuff in the freezer. Must start to vary things a bit.....

Wrapping's done. Ordered DD a 'Make your own lip balm' kit from Am@ zon which is something she asked for.

Eyedrops, hot water bottle then bed I think..

Just got back from our lovely family xmas get together. It was really nice, we should do it more often really but it's so hard getting everyone together.

I woke up with a headache this morning and it still hasn't gone :(. I thought it was going then had few glasses of wine and it came back with a vengeance. Time for some cinnamon toast and a cup of tea I think - might get rid of it. I think I'll take them up to bed and watch TV :)

I've just ordered my dad a Seve Ballesteros DVD and my sister some posh handcream. Got both through Am@ zon via Quidco so should get some pennies back there. Free delivery anyway. I hate paying for delivery :D

We are off to see 2 Father Christmasses tomorrow - one is at the garden centre minding a carousel. You just have to make a donation and your child gets a ride. The other is at a farm - Farmer Christmas. You get a tractor ride into the woods with the other kids to Farmer Christmas's log cabin. He reads a story to the children then they get their present and it's back on the tractor. It's very nice. The last 2 years we've been it's been chucking it down with snow so has felt really festive. I think tomorrow it will just be cold.

Well I have completely blown my money....only tax credits and the slim possibility of some maintenance can save me now :o

Went into town, took out £20 and then spent £30 in primani on my card :o. Bought DD one of those fleecy sleepsuits, a pretty black cardigan, some jeans and got myself some slipper boots. The jeans will be going back tomorrow as they are too short for her. My slipper boots are lovely, so snuggly.

Treated us to lunch in the cafe (£8.10) and got my eyebrows threaded (£3 but a necessary luxury ;)).

Farmer Christmas was good and DD's present was a 250 piece jigsaw - nice to get something decent.

Got all the ironing done when we got back so don't have to worry about it tonight. Cooked dinner and now DD is in bed reading wearing her sleepsuit. She looks very cute. I might treat myself to one after xmas - they might have come down a bit in price then :D

I am off tomorrow. It is DD's christmas concert. I will pop into town afterwards and take the jeans back so that will be £8 clawed back. I also need to pick up a parcel that they tried to deliver today. I think it might be my desigual coat!

I need to be good foodwise this week. It is our xmas party on friday and I have a little black dress that I must fit into

Had a day off yesterday for DD's christmas play. It was lovely. Then I whizzed into town - picked up my desigual coat from the post office. It fits lovely, just a little creased. I'm going to give it to mum to wrap up so is going to stay creased for a little while.

Took DD's jeans back then went to Argoos and bought her a portable CD player. It was more than I wanted to spend but it's got an MP3 connection. Just ordered her a CD for it (Now 80). I don't think she'll be expecting that. Fortunately the things she keeps pestering me for I have already got her so I've done well there.

Big news today is that not only have we got a payrise but also a small (but not inconsiderable) bonus :j. It all helps :D

Forgot to mention that last week DD came home from school with a letter saying that a poem she had written had been selected to be published in a book :T. She wrote a Viking poem and got a certificate saying "**** has written a creative piece of distinction that was selected for publication in a Young Writers' Anthology". I am so proud of her. I think only 15 pupils from each year had poems selected :)

:T:T Fabulous, so happy for her and you too :)

Alcohol always gives me headaches too.

I's love one of those too BUT I've avoided buying one because they aren't exactly attractive. If I had one I'd wear it, way too much probably :o

I haven't got the app. Is it free? I know the DM is a bit of a swearword on these forums and as a single parent I am usually targetted by them, but the DM is the paper I grew up with. My dad used to work for them and I am just used to it IYSWIM?

I'd never wear one if there was a man on the scene (or even the possibility of one calling round ;)) but I think they are quite good for snuggling on the sofa which is something I am doing a lot of lately.

Actually I was looking at the fleecy PJ bottoms yesterday and they are really nice and have a bit more sex appeal to them. Might treat myself after xmas :D

Ya it's free, search the app store. It has 3 sections-news, celebrity and femail. It's updated constantly. I have loads of news apps but I like the mail one for all the celebrity and girly/relationship articles :o
