I've signed up to do a 24 mile cycle ride for charity. This is the furthest I've ever cycled and it's next Sunday . It's in aid of the hospice that cared for a dear friend of mine just before she died. I'm looking forward to it even though I think I may struggle a bit - the furthest I've ridden up till now is 12 miles....

Spends today is £3.53 on harvest festival bits for dd to take into school tomorrow and £10 to enter the cycle ride.

I've hoovered all through upstairs and down and cooked dinner. DD is now in bed and I'm watching the G B Bake-off wishing I had some cakey bits to eat. I might have to have some toast in a little while.

The Knight (had to give him a name and seeing as I think he looks pretty hot in his chainmail that's what I'm calling him ;)) is texting me...

  • Can definitely see the appeal of knight in chainmail :D must try hanging out at re-enactment things :)

Got home yesterday to a brown envelope from HMRC - thought it was just going to be another one of their 'we're not paying you tax credits any more nerr' letters and it was actually a tax rebate!! My first ever! Only £20.89 but it all helps :)

DD wants to go to Dickens World and I think it costs about £20 for the 2 of us so that can go towards that. Might do that Sunday as I think it's going to rain then - do a bike ride tomorrow :)

I have £35 in my purse and that will have to be enough for this week's food shop. I should be able to manage it but we need absolutely everything. I will need to do a list soon and add it all up as I go round.

Food shop came to £34.16 and I didn't even add it up as I went round :T. I even chucked a few treats in as well so it was a pleasant surprise. I still need to get a few more bits from Ms but shouldn't come to much more than £7 or £8.

In particular I need to get some more eye make up remover because I think I have finally sussed what was making my eyes so sore earlier in the year. I have started using A1di's eye make-up remover again and they have flared up again so although it removes facial make-up really well it's not suited to my eyes. I will have to go back to using the expensive J0hnson's pads that are kinder. At least I know what's causing it now anyway.

Have done all washing and changed beds. Off out for a bike ride with my dad in a little while whilst the weather is still good - at the moment it's really sunny but quite cold. Just thought - must get out on the roof later and look at that guttering before the rain hammers down again.....

  • Excellent grocery spends:D I had mine delivered this morning and it was £59, including the £5 delivery - I hunted high and low for free codes but none around...but, if I do 2 online shops in the next few weeks I get a £20 off voucher for my next shop, so it'll be worth i think.

Guess what....I rearranged the date...tonight:T I tried to say no cos girls are here, but as he and my friend pointed out, they are teens, they will be fine for a couple of hours. Soooo nervous:o:o We had a nice text chat last night though - first time ever, it's usually one text followed by a reply a few days later;)

Hahaha:rotfl: well, it didn't quite go to plan...actually it didn't go at all:o I waited to hear from him, he waited to hear from me...until it got til 9 and I assumed we weren't going:o I texted and he thought I wasn't sure about it, wasn't ready to meet him so he thought he'd wait to hear if I got in touch...but there was me waiting for him to take charge and sort itout:rotfl:

It will happen though, maybe this Friday...but he has his son fri and sat so might get his mum to look after him for a couple of hrs, we'll see.

Typical, I'd geared myself up and was quite happy to go out then was too stubborn to ask at about 6 wha time we should meet:rotfl:

Anyway, hijack of poles' diary over:)

Blast...I go away for a few days and it all happens...sort of! Sorry I missed your post Pixie, I've been so busy and too tired to pop on in the evenings. Well let's hope it all goes well on Friday - he is obviously keen :)

The Knight came round on Monday evening and we chatted for hours - he left at 1am :D

Will try to update a bit more this evening.........

Yes, stop deserting us will you?:rotfl:

Don't think my date will be Friday-we haven't spoken this week and I quite fancy a quiet, no alcohol evening as we're off out on Saturday for a family meal for my mums birthday. We'll see eh?!

Wow, 1am on a school night?! Sounds promising:) Very exciting!

He didn't stop talking! We chatted for ages (mainly ;)).

Sometimes a nice quiet evening is all you want. Do keep us posted and I promise to pop in a bit more regularly.....
