Sorryyyyy...I've been AWOL (yet again)...I am more than OK just had loads going on but my bank account is certainly noticing that I've not been posting or reading so i really must get back into it all.

Welcome EJG1982 and thanks for posting and subscribing :)

So much has been happening that i don't really know where to start! The medieval thing that WLM told us to go along to has kind of (in an ironic way) opened a can of worms. The monk/doctor re-enactor (who made children faint) facebooked me after the event (we have a couple of mutual friends including WLM :rotfl:) and said that my smile had 'played on his mind all weekend'. Cheesy? Maybe? But I was admitting to my friend at the time that i thought he was quite hot :D so I was more than pleased to hear from him. Maybe I was some kind of wench from the 12th century in a previous life but chainmail certainly seems to do it for me :o. We've been along to a couple more events that he's done and on saturday me, dd, him and his 2 kids went out for the day and it was all very nice.

Since all this has been happening both WLM and the young lad I was seeing oh so briefly earlier in the year have been texting me - and more than usual. It seems that as I am not particularly bothered about any of them they are now all getting in touch. Sometimes it's all 3 of them at once during the evening. I'm not so much playing the field as working it ;). I just need to make sure I don't get my text conversations muddled up. It is very nice though and I am really enjoying the attention.

Blokes never text you when you're hoping they will - it's almost as if they know....

I got myself some roller skates off eBay - £25 - secondhand but they're good ones and we have been to 2 roller discos. DD is coming along really well (especially when I'm pulling her haha) and is 100 times better than she was a month ago.

I've been trying to get out on my bike at least once a week. I went with my dad last sunday and we did 12 miles and yesterday we managed 9. Now that it is turning autumny I really need to start getting some proper bike clothing - gloves would be a start - my hands were freezing yesterday!

EJG1982 - you're never to old to start pole fitness. I started at 36 and I turned 40 in June. I cannot stress enough how good it is for you both physically and mentally. I started it when I was on a real low and it boosted my self-confidence in so many ways. I love how toned I am now (if a little bruised most of the time :o) and it's lovely getting compliments off people about it. If you can find classes near you, go along even if just for a try out (most good teachers should do a taster session because it isn't for everyone) I'm sure you'll really enjoy it.

    Financial news....

As I have admitted above things aren't looking great, I'm still recovering from holiday spends, kitten spends, 'what-the-heck' spends etc but it is payday today and I have worked everything out. Most things are [STRIKE]paid[/STRIKE] accounted for and this month should be the month that my mortgage payment comes down :j. I just need to be a bit frugal. Again..

Got a text from the CSA and 5 weeks money will be paid this week :)

Credit card balance is down to less than £330 so that's all good.

Need to find some extra money from somewhere though...I have a feeling I will be wanting some new underwear soon.....:D

  • Oh yoooooooouuuuu...keeping all your excitement to yourself:rotfl: I am very impressed, 3 of them interested eh? The new one sounds hopeful though - well done you, enjoy it:D

I was texting a guy I used to know at school (like 25 yrs ago;)) - he wanted to meet last Sat,but I got very cold feet on the day and cancelled, feigning illness:o:o I am so hopeless...it's been so long that I'm scared of meeting anyone. God, last date was in '94:rotfl:

Looking on the bright side, this staying in lark means I've not spent much at all in Sept - I'm recovering frm the summer holiday spends:D

Ah pixie you should have met up with him! Even if he wasn't right remember you could have just ended up with a nice male friend and that can always come in handy. Also men have men friends so if he didn't do it for you after 25 years then he might have had a friend who would :D

I have felt rough since yesterday afternoon. Think I may have a throat infection or tonsilitis. It probably wasn't wise to go roller skating for an hour and a half yesterday (i do so enjoy it) but I don't think it did me any good. Today has been a really long day at work and the weather has been so miserable too.

I have succumbed and put the heating on :o. Only for a couple of hours in the evening but it has been so damp I just haven't been able to warm up. Also the kitchen door started leaking with all the rain yesterday (the guttering had twisted) - I need to get up on the extension roof and sort the guttering out but I can't go up while it's pouring down or while I'm feeling like this. I really must fix it properly - I think I was clambering up on the roof sorting it out when I started this diary 2 years ago!!

I've arranged for dd to go to brownies. She starts next week with her friend. It's £2.50 per week which is fine.

Have cooked dinner and epilated legs in readiness for tomorrow's pole classs. That's all I'm going to manage tonight - still feel like pants

I feel miles better today. No sore throat or anything. If it hadn't been chucking it down with rain I'd have gone for a run at lunchtime.

I've just renewed my car insurance - seems to be a lot lower than last year (even with my 3 points i picked up earlier in the year). Must be because I am now 40 and therefore responsible.....:rotfl:

I also went through Quidco too and think i 'should' get £80 cashback. Just hope I read it right and wasn't blinded by figures and it's only £80 if you take out half a dozen policies :o....I will check and see what's tracked in little while.

See - I've only been back on the forum one day and already my MSE hat is working its magic :D

Pole class tonight. Need to pay for the next 6 weeks lessons so will cash a cheque for that in a bit. Already accounted for so don't need to worry about that.

Must check bank account and stay on top of things there too.

    TTFN..

  • 40 and responsible eh?!:A

That's a great cash back amount, fingers crossed you get the full amount! I love cash back sites, free money;)

Glad you're feeling better. I felt full of cold last night (I blame dd2) but today it seems to have gone...not complaining, I hate colds.

    .

OK - if I can't be responsible I'll just have to be careful instead (and make sure I don't get caught :D).

£80 cashback has tracked :jand today I got an email to say another £1.82 has tracked although I don't know why because I think that was a Go Comp thing and I didn't get my insurance through them in the end. Still, if they want to pay me who am I to turn it down?

Fell off the pole last night :o by some major miracle I didn't hit my head, neck or back but have woken up today with a twisted and bruised thumb. I will be more careful in future. I did get straight back up and managed the move properly (otherwise I would never have got round to doing it). I also managed a 'plank' which I have never been able to manage properly and with a bit of coaxing from the other girls I finally did it and it was actually quite easy! I was just doing it wrong for the last 3 years

Right - off to check bank account and make sure the CSA money has gone in.

  • You do get Quidco cashback just for running the comparison with G0Comp and a few others. Think it's a maximum of once a year for each insurance though.

Am enjoying being chilled too much to go back to pole class yet but your diary is reminding me it was fun...

That's all well and good about the £1.82 :)

Glad you're feeling all nice and chilled Rosa, no point going to pole unless you really want to though. Waste of money otherwise

CSA money was paid in today and with a bit of shuffling between bank accounts I have almost balanced things. It's going to be tight this month (as things stand) and I still haven't taken the credit card payment into account. I have worked out this months figures based on my usual mortgage payment so until I know what it's going to come down to the account is going to look a bit bleak. Child benefit still needs to come in too and I haven't included that either.

Have cleaned bathroom this evening, cooked dinner, sorted through various school related paperwork and done some washing and ironing.

Time to chill on the sofa now - there's a crunch1e with my name on it just begging to be eaten :D
