Off to Aldi tonight - next week's meal plan as follows:-
Tonight - just me, risotto possibly
Tomorrow - at mum and dad's after footie for a roast
Sunday - Fish pie
Monday - at mum's again
Tuesday - salmon pasta
Wednesday - scampi
Thursday - pizza
We're off tofootie tomorrow, last day of the season and my team is going up as champions so should be a good day. I have my neighbourhood watch meeting in the morning.
Sunday we are going to the Sweeps Festival - lots of morris dancers, sounds dull but it's really good and some of the west country troops (?) have really scary routines - lots of masks and sticks...
Just hope it doesn't rain....It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
My uncle died yesterday. We have been expecting it for a few weeks as he had been fighting cancer (with absolute dignity) for nearly 4 years. The last few weeks have been awful for him and although I know he's out of pain now it still feels desperately sad.

Sorry to hear about your uncle Poles - it's always a shock even when it's sort of expected. Will be thinking of you and your DD.

It will be a relief for everyone - especially him - that he's out of it now.

In spite of everything we had a lovely day yesterday. We went to Charlton for the final game of the season to watch them be crowned Champions of League 1. The Red Devils dropped in (literally) before the game which was quite exciting to watch, we won 3-2 which was great for my dad but also quite poignant as my uncle was a lifelong fan too, then it was back home to mum and dad's for a lovely roast dinner with a couple of my dad's friends. Then we all sat around after dinner drinking, chatting and laughing.
I felt rubbish this morning thoughand a trip to the Sweeps festival in the freezing cold and pouring rain really didn't help my poor head. Lunch in P1zza Express did though
I love the Sweeps Festival but it was such a miserable day today and I can't believe how cold it was. Hopefully tomorrow will cheer up a bit. It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
Hi Poles,
Sorry to hear about your uncle. Glad you managed to have a good day out though & his team were the winners.
- love the top by the way, am in awe of all you polers.0 -
First almost dry day for ages yesterday so we went for an 8 mile walk. Lovely. At this rate I'm going to need to get some walking boots!
I have ordered my pole :j Hopefully will be arriving Thursday. Ordered some grip stuff too
I walked to the next town today (another 2.5 miles) to pay in the contents of my Hedgehog which made up most of the cost of the pole. I then walked even further to the post office to post my ebay sales off - pair of jeans, 2 CDs and a Minnie Mouse hair thing which sold for over £7 when I listed it at 99p :T.
Got back and had sold another 2 CDs..Good.
My TiVo was installed today too so can't wait to get home and have a play with that although it will be after 9pm as I have my pole class tonight.
