Polesalot's Climb to Debt Freedom

Food shop came in at under £35 so I was quite pleased with that.
Today we popped into town and I had my eyebrows threaded. It was free because it was my 6th visit since they started their loyalty card scheme so that saved me £3.
Then we popped to Marks' and as I had a voucher I treated myself to a necklace.
So a nice little spending buzz that didn't cost me any real money
I've got all the ironing done today, both beds stripped, changed and bedding washed. I spent all afternoon finishing off sorting out my paperwork. It's been culled to within an inch of its life and everything has been sorted into plastic wallets and filed in box files which have also been labelled. It's a nice feeling knowing where everything is now
I baked a loaf of bread too (or rather, the BM did ).
I think I'll be able to get my pole sooner than I thought - I'd completely forgotten about the £50 cashback that I was due from P/O credit cards - as soon as that's in my bank account I will order the pole :T
Also, from looking at the calendar I think I will get 2 lots of CB within this (salary) month and possibly another lot of maintenance - because they are paid 4 weekly :T
Just sold another CD
Just cut my fringe so that's a further saving.
I think that's all for today.....I have to look at DD's maths homework. My dad and I looked at it last night and it's really hard. We got the answer but it was through trial and error. She needs to be able to show her working out and we can't exactly say 'we guessed the answers and they turned out right'. I feel a note to the teacher coming on......It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -

They are given 4 sets of food items and how much each set costs and then they have to calculate each individual item. Seems easy and we could work out one of the items straight away but couldn't get the others (apart from through trial and error). Maybe 7pm on a Friday was the wrong time to look at it....It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0

So just algebra then?
X + Y + Z = 10
X + Y - Z = 2
etc? etc?"Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Yes! I tried it with algebra but my memory's not great and it didn't work. DD said the teacher showed them with charts?
This homework is for 7/8 year olds!!!!It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -

Never seen it with charts before. I've seen it with matrix multiplication before and diagonal matricies - but you *really* don't want to go there."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

I've worked it out. Not with charts - I used the logical method (and 3 sheets of paper). It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0

Poor dd was having kittens this morning, dreading her maths lesson. I have put a note in with the homework but the problem is after any parental contact the teacher just singles out the child and picks on them in front of the whole class.:(
I have told dd to clench her fists, not cry and just try to imagine the teacher with no clothes on.We'll take it from there.
I can see a trip up the school coming up.
Another text from CSA this morning. A further week's money will be paid later this week :j. Things are looking upIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -
oh poor DD and :eek::mad: to that kind of behaviour from a teacher - that's hardly helpful! I hope it's gone OK.
