  • So here's the thing, two resignations from colleagues over the last week, thought it was coming. One was managers job, boss asked me in a roundabout way if I was interested. It would be a huge wage increase, but at the same time a huge responsibility, and I'm really not up for that. Been there, done that, had the stress of being in charge. I did indicate I was available for more hours though.

So for the time being I know I'll get some decent OT for around a month, which will help with the bullet dodging game that I am currently playing. In a really sad way I am actually enjoying the challenge of staying afloat. Only because I know in 148 days it will be so much easier.

Few ebay sales another £42 due.

Declutter challenge continues but having posted 4 items off yesterday, passed down one set of school uniform to a friend, thats 6 items removed from house .

Hypno suggested this around a two years ago, remove xx number of items from the house per day. If I average 10 a day that's 1310 before 31/12/11. Should I get £1 for half of those items via ebay/carboot that's £655. Things like that motivate me :)

Yesterday I sat down with meal planning spreadsheet. As I've said 100 times before grocery budget is my big downfall, and wandering around Waitrose after a 10 hour shift is a recipe for total 'sod it' attitude. I love my menu spreadsheet because I am trying to find a minimum of one new recipe a week, so far it's been a big success.

Morning off, bucket loads to list/iron/wash so best get on with it.

Me too, although staying afloat is a bit ambitious. It's more a case of damage limitation at the moment :o
It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :j

    Sorry - don't know how to multi-quote!

I think this is a great idea and has actually motivated me too. I will list my stuff at the weekend.

Good analogy indeed. That sums up how I am too at the moment. Still cant complain as I am at least eating this month!

Sounds like a plan to get more overtime there. Good for you for not feeling obliged to take on the managers role despite it being more wages. I just did the opposite and lost a fair bit of wage but feel so much more settled now. Peace of mind and minimum stress brings far more richness to your life than money and stuff does.

Love the idea of working on numbers to motivate you. Any ideas on how to motivate my OH who still has his swimming club jacket from when he was 6 (its cute but I ask you.........) I have reduced my possessions to such a level that if I were to die tomorrow there would be about a car full to go to the tip. Seriously still overcrowded though. OH wont throw away any old letters, newspapers that have a specific artlcle he is interested in ............sigh.

And there in lies my problem I have a bunch of old letters and cards from those who are no longer with us ...only a shoebox full, will mean nothing to anyone but me, so what to do ?

The swimming club jacket, oh dear cheri, I'm afraid I would be the same !

:) now letters and cards (not just happy birthday ones but letter type) are the things that I do cherish and I have them in an album.

This will be my new time of day, I have OT coming out of my ears for the next month, some silly hours and it won't be easy juggling everything but if I don't try......

    Have a good Saturday.
