I'm going to be dodging a lot of bullets over the next 6 months, but determination is there. Few sideway steps will be needed, but not going to go backwards Cheri. (Holds out hand to pull you out of reverse...)
MTG - 6 payments of £301.11, nearly there :), we will have virtual party soon in Jan/Feb.

My budget sheet/spending diary which I spent hours over in April has been a real eyeopener as I've stuck to updating it, and here's an admission - I think I actually get it now ! Only taken me about 20 years to clean my financial beer goggles.

So I have got involved in the £10 a day challenge for August, £32.64 out of £310 done. If I do this for the next 6 months, I'll be in such a good position at the start of 2012.

Mission declutter is still in progress, have made some serious inroads to some very deek darp corners of the house, but not yet under the stairs...

    Happy Sunday

The light is at the end of this particular tunnel :T I don't think that it is a bad plan at all to tread water for the next few months - gives you a nice lead into whatever you do next!

Can't really believe the insane situation of our cities, sounds silly but I hope it rains heavily tonight so things can calm down. It really is quite sickening to think of the ruin that has been caused.

Come to the decision that I am definetely affected by the lunar cycle, full moon approaching and I seem to have got my groove on !

Yesterday I sat down and contemplated my current employment situation. A recurring theme throughout my diaries. Present position been there 9 months, 27 hours a week, it's okay but not ideal. I know I'm lucky to have a job but in all honesty I need something FT that doesn't have a shift rota all over the place. One thing I have learnt in this job is that I do like retail, so there's a whole new world open to me. Added to that I know I can't do another winter in this job.

So I have put a couple of prospective letters and CV's in the post, lets hope the local paper is full of ideal positions today.

Have the morning off so the ironing mountain awaits.

Good luck with the job hunting. I hope your local paper is better than ours.

  • Good morning

My ongoing attempt to make house look like an adult is in in control have resulted in a serious case of 'got to get worse before it gets better'. Front room has things in it not seen since Chery Cole was a Tweedy, and Brosnan was Bond !

The cause of this is an ancient toybox that I believe I mentioned on the first page of this diary - over a year ago - that has created a hotspot on the upstairs landing. I have found everything from Year 7 geography homework of eldest son (17) to Macdonalds happy meal toys from the 90's.....

Today I am on it because when it's in your face it has to be done.

Financially I've totally overspent on the weekly grocery budget and am really cutting it fine this week, will be touch and go. Have ebay parcels to send and just hope they come in at under a tenner.

I registered on my Money Sense earlier in the year and after inputting everything the suggested offers for all my creditors were all around the same as I am paying ! So it is all about the fine details and the usual cry of overspending here and there.

157 days until BBL is gone .....

  • Hello DC xx

good to see you posting, your aren't treading water - your current aim is to pay off the BBL which is all good and going down each month so you are doing v well I think so there!

I have next to me "Banish Clutter Forever" (Shelia Chandra) I was hoping it was a spell book but 1. there is no magic wand and 2. there are chapters on how to deal with each room with instructions and actual hard work described.......so I guess its the long way round for the decluttering then! !!!!!!!

Don't get lost in the clutter, do come up for air!

    Love Buffyxx
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Buffy - I bought that ! Got halfway through and peaked far to early, hit the bathroom with serious gusto and then moved on to the next dilemma or disaster that confronted me. I am so fickle !

morning. Cheery Daffs did a bit on her diary after reading a book called Getting Things Done. - sorry cant remember who it is by. It would seem to me that decluttering could be approached in the same way maybe. I have decluttered all of my belongings but Mr C just refuses to come aboard and I still feel like I am sleeping in a teenagers bedroom - clothes everywhere (because we havent got big enough wardrobes says mr C. My clothes are on one of those rails for ironing type -I have decluttered so many) books everywhere (because we dont have enough bookshelves - my books are on one shelf, his take up 5 bookshelves and floor space everywhere). So any suggestions for a miracle cure?

DC - Buffy is right if you have a goal to get rid of BB loan then that is moving forward. Positivity thanks Buffy.
