I've read the accompanying letter and its as clear as mud. It states the new agreement will run for a same time period to the original, so my understanding is that you have 24 monthly payments to go, but that is not actually stated anywhere.

I'd phone them (you only have 14 days and a few have gone already - so don't write). Ask how many payments remain and what the date of the last payment will be. If its 24 payments request clarification in writing. If its not 24 payments reject the offer in writing.

They don't actually put a phone number anywhere on the communication and they say it's their final response and that if I want to take this further then to contact the FOS - which I am quite prepared to do but I want to get my facts in order before I write my letter or phone.

    Thanks for you reply

Hi mrsa, why is there still over £400 in insurance on there? if you dont want this then tell them, you will find a phone number on any letters they have sent you? If you have not got one phone customer services and ask to talk to someone about this.

    Thanks amersall

The other insurances were for boiler brakedown and life insurance.

I will be asking for a refund on the boiler cover because they didn't explain that this policy was for 24 months but that I would be paying for it over the 48 months. Until I found my policy the other day I thought I was covered for the term of the loan.

I don't mind keeping the life insurance though.

Thats good then, let us know how you get on.x
Btw When they take the boiler cover off they will need to send you a new loan figure, as this amount will need to be taken off your monthly payment too.
  • hi,

after looking at everything, it appears that as long as your repayments on the restructured loan are for a further 24 months ists about right.

so you need to g et clarification from Welcome that you will only have 24 payments remaining,

if not you need to go to the FOS
I'm proud to say that the banks no longer take money from me after becoming debt free

    Thanks for looking robbed.

So does that meant they should be taking the £528 off my compensation as well?

I don't get how they can say I would have overpaid by 1200 but then want to take arrears off?

    Thanks for looking guys.
