I should have added that there is a customer Settlement Form which details the compensation.

Basically it says that the total comp offered is £1376.55. Compensation being applied to the arrears on your current loan £528.18. Remaining compensation to be sent by BACS transfer £848.37.

Then there are boxes for me to choose from of what I would like them to do with my compensation ie pay it to me, pay it off my loan.

Hi there, i have pm you, this is not right, you should not take this loan for 48 months when you have paid 24!! already, this is not putting you back to the position you would have been without ppi.I would appreciate feed back from anyone who thinks this is right or wrong xx

A guess that ppi was 73 ish times 22 months that you paid = 1.606 plus interest on this? take arrears off this = 1.077 and they want to give you 848, and make you pay extra interest for another two years!!! this does not sit right with me, if i am wrong i will say i am wrong!! but you have not even got the ppi paid to date back. please give fos a ring and get their opinion on this.

By the way, ask welcome what the start date for this 48 months is, they may be taking it from the original loan date and not from when you sign now. This may be wishful thinking on my part , but i will give them the benefit of the doubt.

Well I was wondering about putting the date as June 2008 :)

I wouldn't put anything past this lot, they're well known for dodgy dealings and that's why they're in the trouble they're in now I expect.

    I will keep you updated.

I have just read this thread as I am currently waiting on figures from Welcome after winning ppi claim on on going loan so will be looking at re write too.

I agree with amersall that this is wrong unless like you say the date is from original start date of loan, but where welcome are concerned I not to sure maybe they hope people are daft enough not to notice and just sign
