Hello, I’m creeping in here quietly hoping that everyone else is already on the September thread. I’ve finally added up the receipts and have to report August as a dismal failure at a whopping £309.70 which is £69.70 over budget . Admittedly £40 of that was a birthday meal for me that DH insisted on (although he didn’t pay…) but I can’t account for it in any other budget. The rest is down to DH going away so I treated myself to a bottle of wine and the children and I ate what we wanted rather than leftovers. At the time it was subconscious, but no excuse and so very frustrating to think that I could have been well under with a bit of effort :(.

Here’s to more willpower in September!

  • Well happy to report total for August £270.51

Not too impressive because we were away for a week but I'm counting it as a success anyway!

    Roll on September(perhaps;))

    February Grocery Challenge £301.46/300

  • Small spend for me today on a bag of salad and the new Good Food. The magazine is a luxury, I know, but I figure if it's helping me to cook seasonally and from scratch then it's a good thing to have

Congratulations to Doom_and_Gloom for coming in under budget. Have fun in September!

Declaring at £449.55 for August. Just 45p under and 22NSD - though we were away for a week so it's not that great! Still as Meanmarie says it's in the right direction! See you over in the September challenge!
