Well done milly on stocking up on food. £7 over is not bad for school holidays and maybe with everyone back at school you'll make that up next month. I was only thinking the other day that it's all very well supermarkets etc selling basic uniform cheaper and cheaper but the cost of the stuff you have to buy direct from school goes up and up. What I think is a real rip-off is the emroidered polo shirts.

Good luck with college tutor this afternoon, hope she can give you some pointers. You did so well with your last assignments once you got going. I'm sure you can do it again!! Go for it!!

Hi Maman,
Urghh, school uniforms:mad: DD1 is going into Y9 so she does have all the uniform...however the school have decided to change it - grey skirts not black, a jumper not a sweatshirt and compulsory blazer. Only thing they've not changed in the shirts. She's getting supplied with a blazer but had to buy grey skirts. As dds's starting there I had to buy her a blazer, jumper, shirts and skirts...plus PE kit (with those embroidered polo and rugby shirts:eek:). Before buying shoes I'd spent £150 - shoes today were £23 for both...they don't come cheap:o

So, we're back from shopping - have spent too much, but that's it for the summer hols...no more going out:D
Got school shoes for them, few bits in Primark and then a couple of treats....I'm not thinking about what I spent, but that's the last bit of clothes shopping I do for them for a while:p
I got nothing....as usual, but I didn't see anything I wanted anyway.

Am shattered after that now, so will sit down with my book I think, girls playing Mario on the wii.

Dinner is chilli or spag bol from the freezer - one for each of them. I had a burger for lunch so wont be that hungry...toast will suit me. Quiet day in tomorrow I think, especially if weather's as poo as today:rotfl:

Good morning:D
Just realised that today is ex's payday - money not in yet, but let's see how long it takes him:rotfl:
£3 recieved in Paypal from Pinecone, tax credits in and moved about. Grocery account is now ready for the new month - I have £248 put aside for Sept - there have been 5 Thursdays since I last moved the grocery money so I'm feeling quite flush for Sept, food-wise:rotfl: I'll aim for £220 though and move the rest to savings if I can. We have quite a bit of food right now - will be aiming to make it last until the end of next weekend.

I managed to spend £180 online when I got to bed last night:eek: DD1 was moaning that her mattress was horrible and didn't want to sleep in her own bed.... The mattress has been awful for a few years, I have a few blankets over it, under her fitted sheet - it was bought when she went into a single bed in 1999:o:o And it was the cheapest single one I could get then - so I think time has come to get another;) dd2's wasn't much better - another cheap one, but bought a little later - 2001 I think when dd2 went into a bed at age 2! I did get a good buy though - Argos had a few reduced so got the half price ones - from £180 to £90. That came out of my savings, delivery is next Saturday.

Not much planned for today - house is a mess so must get tidying and cleaning. My friend's coming later to cut dd2's hair, bringing her daughter who's one of dd's best pals, so she can stay for the afternoon.

Girls both still asleep, but am waking them soon - dd1 couldn't sleep the other night as she had slept til midday...wasn't tired. But thought it ok to wake me and tell me her bed was unconfortable and she couldn't sleep...at 2am:p

Off to get dressed and start tidying up:T

Ok - today I've changed electric/gas suppliers...hmmmm;) New dd is £10 less plus I'm getting a free energy monitor thingy, worth £45 (which I've wanted for ages!)

Not done much today, one friend popped in to say hello then my other came with her daughter, cut my youngest's hair (wouldnt take my money either) and her daughter's still here playing on the wii with my 2.

I've just sorted through the girls' bedside cabinets - loads of stuff chucked out, a good job done. Washing's on an airer, which I hate - it takes up too much room! Dinner going on now - jacket pots for dd2 and I, dd1 wants bolognese so is coming to make her own!!

Money from ex has gone in - but only £25 extra to cover the trips:mad: He's rung to apologise, said a lot of his commission didnt get paid....not much I can do really. So...he STILL owes £50 for the trips they went on in June/July:D His Mum gave me a cheque at the weekend towards the girls uniform - must pay that in asap.

Isn't that just so annoying? You still had to pay the £75 for the trips by the date it was due. I suppose when it finally comes in it will be a little bonus because you've already adjusted your other spends to compensate.

I really need to get my DD a new mattress. It's not bad but not firm enough for my liking. Might take a look at Argos too.

Hahaha - I paid £650 for the trips they went on - he's paying his half as and when he feels he can afford it...grrrrrrrr I paid them in full months and months ago - in March I think:mad:

Don't buy a mattress from Argos, they don't sell decent quality ones, and the only time Argos are cheap is when the items are reduced to clear.

If I were you I would stay away from big brand names and big chain stores if you want good quality at a low price, and shop on line from a seller who gives a proper satisfaction guarantee that allows you to actually unpack and sleep on the mattress. This way it is in their interest to make sure that you make the right choice the first time.

Afternoon:D
Had a trip into town today - dd1 and I had optician appointments. No glasses for either of us, thank goodness:o
Swapped a pair of dd2's jeggings as the stud things on the ankle fell off, she got joggers instead. Bought dd1 a new school bag - was £25, I paid £15 and she paid £10 - I thought the bag for £15 was fine but she wanted the dearer one so I agreed if she paid the extra!
Did buy myself a necklace, but was only £5 - been wanting something black for a while as I've only got silver chains. And I did go and buy a bag...but it was £30 - it's still in the carrier, I should return it:o

Came home and had a nap, was so tired! Girls playing on the wii - together:D Need to crack on and do dinner - just a hm chicken chow mein with noodles and prawn crackers...ooh and some spring rolls I dug out of the freezer!

We're off to my mum's tomorrow afternoon, will stay the night and come back on Sunday - after picking up my new ikea chest of drawers my sis bought for me. It's for the girls room - the chest they have is awful, cheap white mdf thing - so will use that in their closet and the new, big one in their room. Need all the storage I can find for them.

Afternoon:)
We had a nice weekend at Mum's - chinese on Saturday night, lunch Sunday then to my sister's before coming home. I put together the chest of drawers last night for girls room - it's great, very deep drawers and much more solid than the old previous one. I'm in the middle of sorting their room out now - have moved the old chest into the closet - well the closet is an old en-suite that the landlord's turned into a very handy walk in warbdrobe thing, with 2 hanging rails and huge shelf area. SO their room's in chaos, but I'm having a break now;)

Am feeling wiped out right now - my tum's been really unsettled, so it's taken it out of me. I'm thinking I should buy some rehydration drinks, that's probably why I feel so useless. Going to try see a doctor tomorrow as I'm back at work Wednesday, and it'd be horrible to work with my tum so !!!!:o

So, money wise I've had a good weekend - spent nothing for 2 days and still had takeaway on Sat:D I do need milk today and have a list of stuff I need from Boots, but think that can be done tomorrow.

I have a washing on the line plus my bedding's been done. Need to hoover downstairs - will do that tonight when I've finished upstairs. Mince is out of the freezer defrosting - having Jamie's minced beef wellington tonight....yum yum:T We have plenty of food for the week - will do an online shop to come next week - I have a free delivery code sent from Asda, I think the £5 off from Tesco has expired, so Asda it'll be! Might get it to come Sunday, ready for the week.

Ok, just going to finish my cuppa and get back to the girls room - though I'd rather go lie in the sun:D
