Hey Milly,
Thanks for the posts about your 'pots' - v interesting! I reckon I need to get more like that - since OH and I started putting into a household a/c together I've almost forgotten about household budgeting
We know how much our monthly bills are and then we've added extra for 'extras' (read: takeaways/coffees at lunch time...) but I never keep close track, just know we're almost always at £0 before next month's money goes in...
Hope you're enjoying Masterchef like I am

Morning:D
Just getting ready to take dd2 to town for her wander round with her 2 friends. DD1 still in bed....lucky thing:o
Must remember to buy the Sun today - I hear there's a £5 off a £40 shop at Tesco - perfect for me;)
Am very tired, I felt really yuk last night - sooo bloated and woke up at 4am, couldn't sleep as it was still really uncomfortable. So had a lie in til 9ish - up now and feel fine though. My stupid guts...blurghhh:o
Better go get dressed - a friend has just dropped a crash mat in for girls to practice cheerleading tumbling on...eeek:eek: She was not impressed with me in my dressing gown!!I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
I find it so hard getting up when I'm off
Our weekends tend to be wasted because I lie-in then have breakfast in bed, then it's 10am and I've still got to shower  I'm going to do things differentky from tomorrow, I always feel so much more alert if I just get up straight away and get on with things. I'm so much more organised on work days so I will have to pretend that I'm getting ready for work :rotfl:
Enjoy your day! It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey

Girls just gone with their dad - just to his mum's this time, only 10mins away...I like that;)
I've done nothing really today - been very lazy. But, I'm not feeling my best, bloated, tired etc. Been looking up about the recovery from my op and so many people say it takes months and months. Lots of people had at least 6m off work before going back, insides not settling for ages and still exhausted - sounds familiar:o I just assumed I'd be all bouncy back to normal and it's frustrating having the ropey tum and complete exhaustion so much.
So, a weeknd on my own. Must try do some uni reading and prepare for the essay.
DD2 had a lovely day in town with 2 friends - her 1st day in town on her own:D She didn't buy a load of rubbis - just 2 lovely tops, very pleased with her! DD1 had a lazy day, but hey, she's 13, that's what they do:rotfl: So pleased with how she's accepted the brace, I'm used to it in her mouth now and she's not moaned or felt any pain, bless.
Not quite an NSD - I bought the Sun for the £5 voucher, and was naughty and bought a mag for my lazy afternoon. Off to continue the laziness and watch soaps, masterchef, BB...oooh good Fri ngiht viewing:DI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Yes do take it easy. Your life does seem very busy and even if relaxation doesn't come naturally your body is obviously crying out for some R & R. Your weekend to yourself has come at exactly the right moment.
DD2 seems to be sharing your skills with money. I always think they should teach budgetting and finance in schools, it really is something that would benefit everyone.
Glad DD1 is getting used to her brace, that must be a relief for you.
Take it easy now

Evening:D
Well, a quiet day here. I did a big pile of ironing thuis morning, whiile watching last night's Mastechef final on iplayer. I even did eldests school shirts - thought no point putting it off and leaving them til the last minute!
When I put the ironing away, I had a clear out of girls hanging area in their closet - pile for jumble, pile for ebay and a few bits for my niece.
This afternoon I've beengoing through stuff for college - trying to find info for my essay. I have some more books to get from the library - will go on Tuesday. I'm completely stuck though on where to start - it's a big 5000word essay, I didn't get to any of the classes, so feel a bit lost. Hoping my tutor replies to my email for help on Monday. It's getting me down now - so little time and it's such a big task.
Nipped out to the shop earlier for wine, and got 2 8-packs of diet pepsi for £2 each, bargain:T
Dinner's in the oven...M+S cheese&onion crispbakes and spag hoops...not really hungry:o
X Factor tonight...woohoo:beer:I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Gooooood morning:D
Up early today - we're off to Crealy in Devon withmy sis and her lot so driving to hers then following them there. I've not driven on a motorway before haha...been driving 4yrs and managed to avoid it - but no more;)
Have a big picnic and £40 of Tesco vouchers to pay for us to get in - wil just have to add £5, bargain. So, apart from ice creams and coffee for me, probably wont spend much else. Am very tired and hoping my ropey tum behaves. Be a nice day out though:T
All I spent yesterday was £18 in Tesco - £3 of that was a plastic box for dd2's packed lunches at school. Will go back to Tesco tomorrow and use my £5 off coupon.
Anyway, better get ready - have a good day people:)I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Morning:D
Had a lovely day out yesterday - I flew down the motorway:rotfl: Girls had fun with their cousins on all the rides, had a picnic (in the wind) then the sun ca,e out and was a lovely afternoon. I spent £3.50 on getting in, £3 on coffee and donuts, £2.50 on sweets in the shop. My niece came back with us after, bought them sausage and chips from the chippy on the way back for £5.60 so not a very expensive day out at all.
I need to go to Tesco this morning, armed with my list and £5 off voucher. Have £50 in the Grocery account...should be plenty;) I'm going to see my tutor this afternoon - I am so stuck with this essay, I need help! I didn't get to any of the classes/lectures of the module so the essay is a bit daunting:o
Tomorrow we're going to Bristol to get girls school shoes...oh joy:( Dropping niece back with bro in law as he's around Bristol. Few bits I want to get while we're there - in Primark as doubt we'll be back until Oct half term.
Ok, I'd better get tidied here and go do the shopping.
Have a good day:pI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Tesco shopping done - spent £57:eek: And that was after the £5 had come off, still - we have lots of food now;) SO that's AUgust's grocery money cleared out, and will pinch £7 for September's grocery money to pay for the extra today as I had £50 left in the grocery account.I really need to sort out a new signature!0

Just had a text from girls' school to say the rather expensive school uniform they made us order and was due in this week will not be ready til next week:eek: Got to collect dd2's Tues, she starts at school thurs and dd1's ready on wed, she's back on fri - how last minute are they?! Ridiculous:mad:I really need to sort out a new signature!0
