What a great idea, thanks0 -
I've seen the site, but never used it before because I was a bit dubious about what the quality of the food would be like. I think I may give it a go though. I think I'd use it mainly for stocking up on cupboard bits (like tinned and dried stuff) and freezable bits, that way I could cut down the cost on my weekly shops I think.
thats what i started off doing but ended up with the approved food shopping bugGc 2013 +26 -5. -4 -7 -14 -15 -10.-8.20 +15p+30+5.80 Dec +9 GROCERY challenge 2014 Jan -2Feb -3 March -1.50 April +5.40 May +4.90 June -3.July 16.50/85

Just had a delivery - I added some of the toffee filled chocolate bars to my order. Unwrapped one to nibble on while unpacking and gloating over my full pantry shelves and thought 'hmm. Odd taste for caramel'.
Then I saw the side of the packet - 'Contains alcohol'

i've also found with the wraps that if you just warm them up for 30 seconds or so in the microwave they become all flexy and soft again0 -
OK, aside from the fact that the past 5 times I have ordered from approved foods there have been several mistakes with every order, has anyone recived my order today????
Ive just had a delivery, and the pick note is my order, everything I ordered is on the note. But the order is someone elses. Does not match the note and is not what I ordered. Is there any chance it is some poor soul on here, who has had their order mixed up with me? This order has cat food, candy floss and toiletries in it.0 -
So a few months ago i started on my dmp and since then things have been going well with budgeting, downbranding (if thats a word) to mainly value foods and so on. Ive noticed a lot of people say that the website "Approved Foods" is cheaper mainly because the food is close to or past best before dates. Does anyone do the bulk of their shop off this website and buy things like bread/milk/meat/fish etc from the supermarket or do you just use it to top up? Its the fact that things are past their Best before date that is stopping me buying from there......are they safe to eat?0

Not everything is past the dates
I'm a bit 'scared' of bb dates on things too
I'm not too sure I'd make too much of a saving using them as I looked at the 'in date' stuff and I already pay around the same prices anyway as a lot of my foods I only buy on offer anywayNo more unnecessary toiletries Feb 2014 INS: 24 UU: 13.
