  • A tank would be great - especially with all the traffic now that school's are back. I can't believe how big the diesel tank is on the Leon. It's a mid-size car. I've got a mid-sized Ford that takes around £60 of petrol on a full refuel.

Congratulations on the tap repair. It's so satifying fixing things. Youtube has allowed me to do loads of things I might never have even though of attempting to fix before.

    Misai piabe Froggy,

Plumbing 101 by YouTube - properly inspired. I've always just gotten a man in!

Feeling your pain on the fuel. At it's height, the diesel price set me back just a touch over £90 for a tank. It's now at a much less unreasonable £85 or thereabouts!!

Surely all these wee lottery wins are a portent to something bigger and better on the horizon.

Bad luck on the ping pong.

Glad the plans for the big relocation are firming up. Have you managed to fire your resident sleepyhead yet? I was busy mediating today (hopefully successfully) - always available for Consultancy! 20% premium on my day rate if I have to deal with any English. French get entrant cordiale rates...

    Cheers so,

    Billy

    Hola Billy

My plumbing extravaganza might need a bit of tweaking, so will need to go back to you tube at some point.. It is working but not as good as I want it to..

Yep times are tough.. Grocery shopping is about £60/£70 a week and so is diesel for 2 cars..

I'd better win the jackpot soon :rotfl:

Resident sleepyhead is still making the odd appearance in between sickies (don't ask!).. She has an appointment at CAB tomorrow for them to work out how much she could get in benefits.. On the other hand my other staff asked me if he could have a copy of his CV because he misplaced it, and wanted to send it out to other companies as he was thinking of quitting too..

On top of that, redundancy talks are not going well.. My boss has been seconded to India, making it impossible for me to finish off any objectives set for the end of the year.. Looks like all the managers have had secondments or their titles slightly changed so they don't fall into the redundancy listings.. But when I question anything, I am being told I am a sh*t stirrer.. Oh great.. Am I the only one that cares here??

My mum is in hospital today for her operation.. I am sick with nerves, and feel guilty I am not there to support her..

Sorry, I am having a sh*t day, week, month, year! Bring on 2012, it can't get worse!

  • Hope your mum is ok Froggy and that today goes well. Sorry to hear you're not having a good day, week, month, year! You always sound so positive and I've found your diary very inspiring. Really sorry to hear about your work situation. Nice to get that label when you're trying to make things work.

    Best of luck.
    Overpay!
  • Really sorry you are having a rough time...I am sure that it will get better....keep your chin up.

Sending best wishes to your mum.

It just keeps happening to you, doesn't it Froggy? So glad your mum is out of theatre. My dad had an op last month and I couldn't relax until I knew he was out either.

I'm hoping your move south gives you a new start and a big change of luck.

Rented houses round here usually get fixed up only a few weeks before moving day, so don't worry about trying to find somewhere now, just get your head round the state of the rental market and what kinds of houses are available for what prices in which areas. Oh, and when you move into rented and start saving up your deposit.... don't even think about leaving this board just because you haven't got a mortgage any more. You're part of the community here, and we want you to stay. You'll get another mortgage to pay down eventually, and in the meantime, we want to read your diary about how you are getting on and how close you're getting to the deposit you need.

(I say "we". I mean that's what I think, and I bet I'm not the only one. :))
