  • Oh well!

No peace for my poor tormented DFW soul
Other than coming on here every second of the day.....no!! This is the only thing that keeps me going for that "inbetween stage" Oh yes, that and fiddling with my spreadsheets *what would happen if I did that/didn't do that* etc etc etc!!!!!!! :D

    I know what you mean.

I know it sounds wierd but I can't wait to pay the bills as soon as I get paid. I guess it's so I don't have to worry about them after that. Funnilly enough I'm not too bothered about the direct debits which are the same every month - just the credit card bills which I have to set an amount for every month depending on my overtime etc.

Don't get me started. I will have a void in my life...

Imagine having all that money....spare.....I'm not sure I'll be able to spend it. Really. I'd think "ooh, I'd have to write that in my spending diary. I probably don't need it".

    I suppose I could start saving/investing...

  • Thought it was just me!

I check my bank balances every day, as well as coming here. In fact for the past couple of days I've had my bank statements summary page open in a separate tab in my browser, because I've cleared 3/4 of my overdraft (after years of living in the red as a student), and am on track to clear it completely next month, and I keep looking at it, just because I get a good feeling every time I see how much the balance has reduced (or should that be increased?!) - I think that is rather sad behaviour! :o

I work online, so am always tempted to read this site when I want a break, and when I'm not doing my employed work, I'm doing eBay or Amazon listings, reading up on investments (planning ahead for when I have free cash to invest!), and looking into other money-making schemes (have just started joining the cashback sites, & am currently trying to get my head around matched betting). And if I'm not doing all that, I'm fiddling with my spreadsheets. So yes, I'm pretty obsessive too, but it feels like fun - I just love the feeling of being in total control of my finances! :j
  • I'm exactly the same since seeing the light !! :rotfl:
I seem to spend all my time checking out this forum, ebay, online banking and my email (just in case I have a survey invite or have won a comp)
The only thing I can't seem to make work is quidco, I used it this morning to do a search on Kelkoo and I still have nothing tracked...where am I going wrong...
Just realised I was treading awfully close to highjacking the thread *smack on wrist*:o

I think that if we turn our current enthusiasm for money saving towards wealth building (via investments etc) after we've cleared our debts, we could all end up being very well off!
  • Unless you're sitting in your underwear at the PC, which is now your sole possession after having sold everything else, you're not obsessed at all, just perfectly normal.

To gain 'obsessive' status and give yourself something new to do each day, simply grate some cheese on a piece of bread, paint a 'miraculous' image of the Second Coming or something on with Worcestershire Sauce to darken the cheese up a bit in places, toast and flog on eBay :) Some mug will buy it, and then you can do another one, until one day you're the owner of the world's biggest Dodgy Miracle Cheese On Toast empire :)

Yup, I know. Someone needs to take this keyboard away from me for my own safety really :)
Eek! Someone's stolen my signature!

I think a lot of us before we were DFW's stuck our heads in the sand (a guy I knew hid all his bills under the sofa right up until they reposessed his house).

This is the other extreme - making sure everything is checked and paid and any offers are completed. I know which I'd rather be :D

(I'm at work right now. So I'm getting paid to check my pigsback account, find out the cheapest place for dishwasher tabs and ask for advice on cleaning my sofa. Classic!)
