  • Off to my mum's today to see some more relatives (how many have I got?) - been told I can't take my dogs as my niece is scared of them - think it's more likely that my mum doesn't want them wrecking the house again! - they can't help it if they get excited about xmas trees and eat them, or steal leftovers that have been left on the side within reach, or eaten the toilet roll and thrown up, or got in the bath and howled for the water to be run so they can have a bath! All in the space of about 3 hours - at least it means we don't have to go there very often - got to love those badly behaved pooches!

Anyway - come to a momentous decision with Mr Hoping that we are going to give up smoking together! Have set the date and hidden all the sharp knives - house is big enough that we don't have to communicate until the worst is over - if you do spot any stories about wife killing husband in cigarette frenzy on NYD in Cambridgeshire please do give me a character reference.

Have suggested we put saved money towards paying debts but currently his half is earmarked for a new camera lens - don't want to rock the boat by insisting we pay debts first so we will just sideline the pennies without him seeing!

Anyway today's pad is £20 towards CC

Have a great new year if I don't get back on here before then and do let me know where the new thread will be as I may be in withdrawl frenzy by then!

    Hi everyone,

I'd like to join this for 2011 please. Not entirely sure how this works - will go back to the beginning of the thread in a sec to find out. But I'd like to allocate all my PADs to one credit card in particular in the hope that I can clear it by end of Jan. Does it count if I put my PADs in a savings jar then pay them off at the end of the month??

    1% challenge - Started Feb 2014. Cap1 card £1,073.42
    1% = £10.73 0% so far

Oh Sash, could you have not found an extra quid to put somewhere :p :rotfl:

My pad for the day is the usual £15.15, I'm being tighter than usual this month as I treated myself to the Kindle and have also had to pay out £200 on car repairs (£130 for mine and £70 for a new battery for OH's car). Although it's a credit to the power of this thread that even after over £300 of unexpected spending, I'm only £100 into my overdraft.

Welcome to all the newbies - keep posting and join in with the chat - this is a fabulous way to see those debts disappearing!

K30lly (and anyone else I guess) it doesn't matter how you pad, but try not to pad the same thing twice (cos it's cheating :p) so if you pay daily into your jar, post the daily amount in big bold colour, but then don't post it again when you pay it off the total.

Have a good day everyone I am trying to get one with some school work but keep getting distracted lol!

    xx
