  • Yes I remember DS1 using it last year and he raved how good it was! But as soon as he stopped taking the tablets he got the cravings back!!!

How long's your OH been on them for??

Crappy BT 'were having technical issues' earlier and I only managed to get back on about half 5.

He's only been taking them for a couple of weeks, he was off the fags within a few days of starting.

There was noticeable changes pretty much straightaway though, he wouldn't get outta bed and immediately head outside for a smoke, he'd have breakfast, sit down and help 'feed' the kids (the days he's here to do that) and maybe an hour later go for one.

There was a woman at work who used them for a few months, raved about how great they are and as soon as she stopped taking them, she started again too.

Flyin' went 'cold turkey' - maybe that's the best way to do it!

  • I do feel a bit left out because I PAD less often these days. Not a PAD but just to show that I'm doing things the right way for myself, since mid August I've allowed over £1200 to build up in a reserve account towards my next tax bill/van maintenance. It's horrible having money like that and knowing that none of it is mine but this is the least stressful way for me to work through these financial issues at the moment.
I can only dream of the day that I make the final payment towards my unsecured debts. It could easily be 5 to 7 years away. But that is the day on which I focus as it is a huge help.
Also, I'm starting to work on a plan to up my income by 7 to 10k a year. It can be done. it just involves doing more of what I'm currently doing but gradually selling off my lower paid work and replacing it with new, better paid work. I am mindful that the economy will limit this to some degree but I have to do this for myself. I'm not a naturally hard nosed business person but it's something I will need to learn.

Something that has always struck me about you Paul is that you very rarely seem negative.

That's a great quality to have so make sure that you never loose the qualities you are 'famous' for i.e - your great attitude and your sense of humour :D

You know that 'torturing' yourself with money in the bank is the right thing to do, it makes better financial sense for you and at least you're still around - unlike those naughty padders that just abandoned us :p

5years may seem like a long time but it's only 60 months ;)

    Hi all,

Just a PAD of £4 today for me to the £2 coin jar.

May have to PAD more to savings for a bit rather than the CCs as OH thinks his temp job may be more temp then we had hoped. However he has an appointment (not really an interview as he has had two already and someone else got that job) with a company who have a short term temp job available and want him to consider it. So he's off to Cleckheaton tomorrow afternoon to see them. It's a lot of driving down the M62 but the money is pretty good and it's better than no job at all. May need to save up for a few days away mid winter so he can have a proper break.

(on this day last year we were on day one of 5 days uninterupted sailing from Maderia to Antigua on Oceana - next time we will be saving up before instead of paying it off after:rotfl:)

    Hey missy!

Can't remember if I said, but well done for paying off your CC :D

I might be biased, but I think cold turkey works if you can keep it up for the first week or two. I "quit" with patches a few times but they didn't work for me at all. I don't start smoking again because I could not go through the first few days of quitting again. I'm not sure that Mr Fresian could either :D Instead of seeing this in the morning

    Hi all,

I'm off work today, I think I have figured out why I was feeling so bad last week, just got back from the docs (ours opens really early now for working people :j- even though I am not a working person today) and apparantly I have some kind of liver infection which explains the lack of energy I was feeling last week. I had really bad pains overnight and still this morning, I was up all night hence not going to work and the doc says it's actually on it's way out but I need antibiotics to help it along.

Might as well post my pad early but I won't do yesterdays total till later on, then I'm going to lay on the sofa with my laptop and a cuppa and try and make the most of the time away from work to get some work done :p that may sound stupid but as a teacher it's very hard to get work done at school, all the teaching gets in the way!

    £13.02 today.

Hope you all have a good day xx
Ths signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it... :o

    Morning All!

Small PAD from me of 3.14 GBP to the Virgin CC. This is the residual interest I was expecting.

I did also use it to buy my Dad's Xmas present yesterday, but only because I couldn't pay using my Dutch card, and didn't want to use my UK bank card as I wasn't sure there was enough left in the bank for it (as I didn't know how much the interest payment would be for the VCC), and I didn't want to end up with bank charges.

Will transfer the Euro's to the UK later today and clear it again tomorrow. :)

    Happy Thursday everyone!

    xxx
