Am keen to bf and have contacted NCT to see if they run a purely bf course, not interested in the others they do really as I go to antenatal yoga and feel 100% ready for the birth. BF on the other hand, slightly less informed about.

I think we all feel like that! It's hard because we don;t often see other women doing it so we don;t have any experience of it, but there's loads of help and support out there.

    Check out these organisations:

Try and get to a local BF cafe if you can, before you give birth. I volunteer at one and am in the middle of my training with BfN and I think they are invaluable in helping you sort out problems before they get bad, and in getting support and answers to questions.

I started off breastfeeding, but after 4 weeks my little one was bottle fed. Therefore i'd say get some bottles and formula (just in case)

Sadly, if you do this it is likely to end up with you using formula when you're all het up in the middle of the night, and then regretting it later.

I'd say get help and support and save buying formula for if you decide you really do want to give up BFing. It is possible to mix feed but usually it ends up with the formula taking over, due to the way the two are so very different.

do contact some of the above organisations as I know you;ll be able to get advice antenatally. I don;t know about the NCT as I've had no contact with them but I do know that BfN Bfing cafes welcome ladies with bumps :)

My advice is to not buy anything until you actually need it - and more often than not you'll find out that you don't actually need it at all.
