totalsolutions..thanks but DON'T show me any more brackets!..i never want to hear the word again!!
frugalmacdugal thanks, it's not one page 1 of our book but it is in there half way through..(think i was too stressed to see it and dh!)wouldn't it have been slightly easier to put it in the set up bit at the start where it says 'plug in and hold the red button for approx 1 second'?? as dumb as having a socket in the middle of the tv hey..and i thought they were a good co?!!
andrew-b lol! IF it had carried on annoying me i may have paid someone to steal it then i would be registering it as stolen!!
It looks fab now up..the only small prob with it (which is not a huge issue) is that it is literally flush to either side of the wall (perfect as what i wanted) BUT the SD card slot and bits are in the side so have to move it with quite a lot of work involved so wont be using it for that much!! Other than that very nice..i kept saying to dh i hate to be a picky so and so but i'm not sure the pic is as good as our old one..he sighed and we fussed with the settings and it is on most progs fab but some are a little pixely..what do i expect for £480 though hey..and i don't watch much tv so ok!! Also!! the shelf underneath we are having remade as it needs to be moved higher as can see a couple of the wires..rung round today and have someone coming out tom or monday so should get that done..if it involves taking the tv off at all it wont get done!
Thanks again!0 -
after reading all this thread my first thought was..............mountain, molehill.
at least you got it sorted. You got to get through what you've got to go through to get what you want but you got to know what you want to get through what you got to go through.0 -
Hi,
so you had to read 32 posts before you could make your mind up. :doh:0 -

Well i work from 6am till 6pm with up to 7 children in the house and an expensive plasma tv sat on the sofa with them around would stress most people out wouldn't it? (and before anyone says it should have been done without the children around, my dh works as soon as i finish so it would be days before it went up)
Lord don't read my other Panasonic thread on Techie bit then as i'm moaning again and making that mountain higher!!0 -

gabyjane, in post 21 you asked me for more info "Can i ask which mount you are reffering (sic)to? Tbh i am finding it hard to find one as they are either not suitable for a corner or the hole is not there for the power lead/socket." So I suggested a site that might interest you as there are professional wall mount specialists. Wall brackets, like yours are incapable of holding the amount of weight spread over a very small area that your DH has installed under your instruction. As it happens you have now lost some functions available to you, i.e. the SD card slot.
If you have that many children around possibly watching TV and pulling the set I hope that stays in place. Wall mounts are large and expensive, complete with different length bolts and spacer spacers for the TV and eight wall bolts for the mount itself spread over 30 inches and full fitting instruction. There are also security features built into mounts stop slippage and tilt limiters. Plenty of room for cables and power plugs.

Thanks for the reply.
The wall mount we have is suitable for weights up to 50kg, ours off the top of my head is about 22kg..i have been told to go by weight so in my thinking that is a lot less it is holding that it could? If it wasn't for the plug hole required it would have gone straight up as it originally did and no more would have been said.
The holes for it etc are suitable for up to a 40" and fit it fine, the bracket has gone on ok and has lots of bolts and screws and the hole cut is according to the people who did it not going to be an issue at all in terms of it losing any strength. It is currently on the wall high up, far too high for the kids to get, that is one of the reasons for it being there!
The SD card slot is still reachable, it is just a bit of a pain due to it being flush to the wall but tbh it is exactly as i wanted it and i didn't even know it had an SD card slot till i looked for the on/off switch! If we use it we will just have to pull it out a bit but it is a tilt, rotate, etc one that moves everywhere so not doing anything that's wrong as such just don't want to move it.
I appreciate what you are saying but at the end of the day i really dont think it is a dodgy bracket a such.0 -

Do yuo work for this company? Of course the bracket is capable of holding that much help or it wouldn't be allowed to be sold! 22kg is not actually that greater deal of weight.
The issue with them coming down is usally to do with poor fitting (eg not knowing the wall type, using unsuitable fixings).
I see plenty of people hanging large pictures on a couple of nails and no questions it. As soon as its a TV on a few screws or bolts people start panicking.0
