Welcome Micron, and what a fantastic quote. Please dont stay in lurkdom, I need all the encouragement and butt kicking I can get. I hate procrastination but I seem to have landed myself in that land for the last couple of years. That list is quite impressive even if I do say so myself but I bet if you wrote a list of the things you had done then you would be just as impressed. Remember to put even the smallest things they all make up the bigger picture.

Right I really need to get a shift of gear going here. Off to the forest with Moo for an early morning mooch

    Goal setting motivation
The reason you want to achieve a goal is critical. Reasons come first, answers come second. If you have a big enough why, the way to achieve your goal will become clear. And your desire will go a long way toward keeping you on track.
When you HAVE to have something, it’s a lot harder to get off track-at least for very long.
    So my WHY?
I WANT A LANDROVER AND I CANT HAVE ONE UNTIL I PAY OFF THE DEBT

can you tell i read "the secret" again last night:D

  • Mornin all,

I am busy writing like fury today, promised myself I would get certain projects finished today so...I VILL!

Memory Girl, COOOEEE?!!! LOL I have managed NOT to hit the Buy Now yet, in fact I am not going anywhere near Ebay today, I may even miss the cricket too, gotta get this done today or I will have to take myself into a room and give myself a stern talking to, from which I will emerge red eared and shaking...

I haven't even read The Secret once. But I have got a copy of the book on which it was based, so there...nur nur ne nur nur !!! 3 housepoints up for grabs if you can tell me what that book is called and who wrote it?

Cherisong, TA-DA lists eh? hmm...I may adopt that idea if you don't mind?

I am feeling very productive today, and pleased with myself, am getting nearer to Scotland every day - not literally obviously, but closer to my goal, oh you know what I mean!!!

MG - thank you so much for turning that Want around to a Deserve! I will write that as the heading on my inspiration picture board - as suggested by sparkly

AW - go for it with the TADA list, completely turned me around this weekend. Instead of looking at a list to see what I need to do I have been doing things just so that I can put it onto my TADA list :rotfl: And I never understood my friends and family when they said I can even be competitive in an empty room. I just had a lightbulb moment.

  • Ooh Cheri I love a good quote. The Daily Motivator usually gets me up and at 'em too. Recently read Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert, whick launched a yearning for some Deepak.

I do suffer from the 'Subscribe to this thread' problem too, see look I'm just about to do it again...

    Hi cherisong,

Another quote lover and avid reader here. I look forward to following your journey.

Aspiring Writer is it based on 'Think and Grow Rich", by Napoleon Hill. He mentions the Secret a lot, but says that it works better if you have to work it out for yourself? I love that book. I really should be a millionaire by now, considering I've read 'Think and Grow Rich" and "The Secret" three times. Mmmmmmm something not quite right here.

I also love Scotland, especially the East coast from North Berwick to South Queensferry, it takes in some truly magnificent beaches, and you are right near Edinburgh. Fortunately, this is the region I live in. Strangely enough when I was young I used to have this recurrent dream of walking down a hill and looking at a magnificent bridge. I lived in Essex and had never seen the Forth Road Bridge. Years later I marry a Scotsman and I live on a hill overlooking that very same bridge that I dreamed of, even the finer details are the same.

All the best cherisong, a landrover doesn't sound like an impossible dream x.
I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.
  • Hey :)

Been away for a few days and not caught up - but wanted to say re the envelope system - when I was getting used to a new budget I used the envelope system - but what I used was clear plastic pencil cases (bought cheaply at the time from Tesco). I then stuck plastic labels on each one. It worked well and I think I am going to start it up again. I had food, petrol/tram, clothing, personal. Everything else was by DD.

Will make a cuppa and enjoy a catch up.
