I have more than enough for my needs BUT I really WANT a landrover

daily chants Hmmmmmmm I have more than enough for my needs
Quote of the day
"In everything the ends well defined are the secret of durable success."Victor Cousins
Goal setting motivation
The reason you want to achieve a goal is critical. Reasons come first, answers come second. If you have a big enough why, the way to achieve your goal will become clear. And your desire will go a long way toward keeping you on track.
When you HAVE to have something, it’s a lot harder to get off track-at least for very long.
So my WHY?
I WANT A LANDROVER AND I CANT HAVE ONE UNTIL I PAY OFF THE DEBT
Ok, I have done my morning meditation and I know that I have more than enough for my needs because I just did my online banking. £84 left and 2 days to payday. Now today isnt going to be a NSD as it is my OH birthday on Thursday so I will just have to bite the bullet and go out and buy him a nice pressie.
A little about me and the background to my quest.
I am (mumble) years old, moved to Wales last year to live with my OH and start a new job. Funnily enough he is now living where I came from Mon to Fri as his job has taken him up there! The job is the best I could ever have wished for and I am earning more than I could ever have dreamed! Ok so not as much as a banker but hey who needs that much. I have more than enough for my needs. So I hear you say, how did you get into debt? Well, although I moved to Wales to be with my partner I still wanted to keep my house for security reasons (2 failed marriages - one abusive physically - the other just an idiot who ran off with a younger family model - down the line and a girl has a right to be a bit jittery doesnt she) but I was made an offer I could not refuse. So I sold my house in the North with a view to buying an investment property in Wales. I put a deposit onto a brand, shiny new flat, but nobody told me that the mortgage companies were having panic attacks about new properties. Despite porting my mortgage and having a very large deposit, 20 days before exchange the mortgage company announced that the flat had been down valued:eek: I had two choices - accept the down valuation and contest it later(i was due to exchange in 20 days) or back out of the sale but if I did this the contract stated that I had to pay a 10% of the value fee:eek: So it was no contest. I would borrow the extra money on the credit card, it was only going to short term after all, I would be getting a tenant in and that would pay the bills. Mmmm - nobody mentioned about a residential mortgage being transported needing to be changed to a buy to let. So onwards and upwards. 7 months down the line. No tenant, partners contract ended and we spent 5 months living on just my wage, paying two mortgages, bills etc. 0% ended - couldnt move all of it to new 0% so paying quite high interest on some. So here I am with £15000 worth of debt. Luckily OH now working again so can start to make a bit of headway.

Thanks Buffy. I read a book by Raj Persaud a while ago called the Motivated Mind. It asks you to write down how you would like to spend your perfect day. Once you know what your perfect day is then you can work out what you truly want in life. It is a great book.
My perfect day was -sleep late, wake up in a house in the country to the sound of sheep, lazy breakfast, walk the dog on the beach, have lunch with friends, do a bit of writing, go for a walk in the country, go to theatre.
Yesterday - I got up at 9am, I now live in the country, had a lazy breakfast with my friend who was staying over, took the dog to the beach, went into the local town and had lunch on the prom, stopped off at the Arts centre and watched a free concert, saw my friend off on her journey home and then finished the day writing in my journal.
Mmmm - I think that it worked
Now I need to read it again to work out how to clear the bloomin credit cards. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
Cherisong, you could take the roof of the back off your Landy then Moo could feel the wind in his hair/fur, er...:)
As for where in Scotland, I think probably Inverness, possibly Cromarty. Been up there twice, love the clean fresh air and the fact that there are a lot less people up there! sooo crowded in the South East.
And no, they dont have to be in that order! Everything is negotiable, except Scotland. I have my reasons you know...:)
Raj Persaud was a psychiatrist, I say was, maybe still is I'm not sure, but he got done for fraud a few years back so I presume he got struck orff. Dont think that detracts from his book though. Another for you to read, when you've finished doing all the other stuff including possibly breathing, is.....
Ageless Body - Timeless Mind by Deepak Chopra
Well worth a read. Always make time to read Cherisong, sod the rest of it!"If you are going through Hell, keep going" - Winston Churchill0 -

Wow! sounds like you got your dream life. Is it very different from how your life was before you read the book? I assume that every day isnt like that though, I mean you gotta work, yes? Thanks Buffy. Honey, good quote, I do try my best most of the time.
AW - :rotfl::rotfl: to taking the roof off!. Used to own an MG and he quite liked sitting in the front seat! I think Raj Persaud was charged with plagiarism and suspended, I dont really care who wrote the bits in his book, I still found it really interesting. Thanks, I will try that book, I think I have read something by him (?) before (scuttles away to have a look on t'internet). I love books and all of my family know that the best present anybody could give me is a book and it doesnt matter what it is about I will treasure it,hence me having 52 boxes in storage. I love to read and I am sorry to say that I have let that lapse a little lately. But I will add it to my list and get into the habit again. Perhaps that is why I have been feeling a little down lately
Well, I managed to get all of my To Do List done!

Managed to make a bit of a c**k up though with booking a return train ticket to London as part of OH birthday pressie.(He is heading down to the proms this weekend - I cant go because no dog sitter) I put the wrong out date onto the ticket and didnt notice until I went to pick the ticket up at the machine. Rang the Trainline and I have to post them back before they will refund the money, on top of which they will charge me £10 for the privelage! Bit of a pain and waste of money there. OH not too bothered as I confessed which means that he will have to buy his own ticket and I will have to buy him something later.
I did however manage to plan and organise tomorrows activities.- breakfast in bed (ingredients in fridge and ready to go) with a pressie (a book)
- drive to a small village in West Wales where there are trips on a steam train. They allow dogs so Moo will be coming along with us
- take a walk along the valley
- have our picnic at the beach. I have secretly bought and packed a sports kite, a bottle of bubbles, a birthday celebration bomb (which is basically a big tube of confetti that explodes. Dont worry it is very eco friendly as I bought it from CAT)
- drive back along the coast stopping at a waterfalls for some photos and a glass of pimms
- back home to a couple more pressies
- out to the local italian for a nice vegetarian meal. I left the cake I made there today for them to deliver to the table as a surprise.
On another money miserable note, I got my statement from Mint today. Paid £116 last month of which £112 was interest!!!!!!! I really need to get my butt into gear to get this sorted.
I found a great quote today for Cheery re tea. It goes something like
A woman is like a tea bag- you never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water.

Ellie, yes I do have to work but I work from home which means that I travel around Mid and West Wales quite a bit (and I love to do that too) but when I work from home I spend my time writing and preparing seminars and reports which I am pleased to say I love doing. I am very lucky and I appreciate what I have every day. I did lose my way for a very long time so what I have now is extra special. I also know that I could lose it in an instant so I enjoy it while it is here.
Before reading the book I was married (happily I thought), working 9-5 for JCP and had done this for 25 years so firmly stuck in a rut. I was also discouraged from changing jobs because it was "secure" I was living in a very industrial town, never got to go to the theatre or listen to classical music because my then hubby didnt like that kind of thing. I went on a springboard for women course and started to read books like Raj Persaud, I think that book and the course brought me to the realisation that I had to nurture my true self and I started to do things that made me happy. Unfortunately my OH didn't appreciate the new me so he traded me in for a younger family model:rotfl:
