    Morning All,

Lots of wedding talk going on here. I am of the opinion that people should do what THEY want to do and how THEY want to do it. I get so frustrated with people doing things because they think it is expected of them or because that is the way others do it. Cheery that wedding sounds so lovely. I can picture the scene in my mind. Glad you had a nice day. I like the sound of a wishing tree, it makes me think of Enid Blyton for some reason :)

Right I have the next two days off work (it is my weekend) and I have been sitting on the sofa drinking tea trying to wake up. This is not so good. I might just have one more cuppa and then head off to the forest. It is very wet here again so no chance of me getting out into the garden to spray paint my ottoman. I am so fed up waiting to do it. I am feeling inclined to buy a new sewing machine because I am fed up waiting to get mine back from my friend. I cant decide what to do today. I really need to get my hair cut but I might wait until payday to do that. I think that later today I will venture back into the guest room and continue emptying boxes to see where I can store everything.

  • Hope you had a chilled out day Cheri. Been decluttering ?
Been chucking it down all weekend here, until early afternoon. I quite like doggy walking in the rain, as long as it's not the stingy variety.

Well, I dont really know where today has gone, or what I have done with it for that matter. I languished on the sofa until around 10 this morning, then tootled off to the forest with Moo, which was lovely even though it was very wet. DC I agree dog walking in the rain can be very therapeutic. After that I came home and finally ate breakfast. Then I decided to go into town. Where I duly visited my favourite shop which is a second hand furniture shop. I got a lovely table there at the weekend (pictures on home page) and cant decide if I should paint it or not. I was very good today, they had a butlers table for £6 which was just ripe for shabbying up and a pine coffee table (humungous it was too) for £75 but I decided to leave both of them. However I have been thinking about them all night so I might pop back there tomorrow to see if they are still there.

Tonight I took Moo to a different woods which is like a fairy glen, it is so lush and has a lovely babbling brook. Anyway, I had taken along my bag to do a bit of blackberry picking in order to make some jam tomorrow. There I was picking away at the bushes whilst Moo was munching away and helping himself to the berries when I noticed that there were big, ripe, juicy ones on a bush further back. So I did what any sensible person would do and trod down the nearest bush with my welly clad feet and legs and stepped over the first bush to reach the juiciest ones. When what do I do but only bloomin well overstretch and topple right over into the bush, landing on my face in amongst the prickles. Moo came running over and stood over me which meant that I couldnt get up as he was fussing so much. Eventually managed to move him away and clamber to my feet. Can you imagine the scene, my hair was everywhere, I had scratches up my arms and blackberry juice and dog slobber all over my face. I hobbled back to the car, helped Moo into the boot and promptly shut the boot on top of my head. I saw stars, I swear I did, and it wasnt even dark. Not sure if it was Sirius though DC. Back home now curled up on the sofa catching up on th e diaries. No decluttering done today, baking is now on hold because I have a whopping headache.
Think I will head off to bed.

Oh you poor thing :( at least you'll know for next time the way NOT to get the juicier berries. Hope your head feels better soon :)

  • Morning, hope headache has evaporated this morning.

As for your adventures in a blackberry bush, hoping you are not too scarred and scratched. Having been pulled into rivers and dragged through the deepest puddles, been knocked flying (literally) over by a spacially unaware old English sheepdog you have my total sympathy. I am amazed I haven't been on youtube with the antics of our local fields.

Thanks Poles and DC. Although I cant blame Moo for being the one to knock me over, he didn't help me by standing over me. :) Wouldn't be without him though. We have some good adventures together.

So I have woken up this morning, stiff, aching and smelling of TCP - good job OH not around, it is so not a good look/smell.:rotfl::rotfl: Who moved the calendar forward to November whilst I was sleeping? It is dark, the wind is howling and the rain is lashing against the windows. The forecast said that today would be sunny. It had better brighten up for tomorrow, a day standing in a field in Harlech in weather like this is not something to be looking forward to. But I will be positive about the weather as Roger Miller said

Today I will walk by actually getting some things done rather than faffing all day. OK so I had worked 7 days in a row so I guess I did deserve a little faffing time yesterday. I am at the point in the guest room now where I need the shed to be put up so that I can move some of the things out of there. Such as deck chairs, garden equipment, etc. So not much more I can do there for now.

    Things I must do today"
    • pay the mortgage
    • phone the water company
    • phone Northern Rock to get a closing balance - work out if I can pay that off quicker
    • sort a load of paperwork out and do some shredding
    • phone the dog walker to confirm tomorrow - note to self.£20 an hour !!!!!!! you could be rich
    • update my blog
    • baking
    • oh I forgot, update my CV - saw a cracking job in Frankfurt for a PA to a legal firms director

Dont really like to do lists but need a bit of motivation. Now my TADA list will return and it may look very different to the To Do list.

You go for it. I love that quote too. It always stops people in their tracks when they are moaning and you throw that at them.

And another day bites the dust. Why is it that my days off go much quicker than my days in work?

5am start in the morning  Up to take Moo for his morning constitutional before driving up to Harlech for the Merionydd show. Another day on the bus being polite to the public and trying to be enthusiastic. Funny thing is I usually enjoy it once I am there. I have resurrected my notebook from the days when I fancied myself as an author. It is a good way to jot down thoughts and observations about peoples characters. Not sure I will ever do anything with it but who knows, it cant hurt and can only indulge me.

I guessed that my to do list would differ from my TADA list so here goes

Well, the envelopes have been an official failure this month. Well I dont believe in failures so I guess what I mean is that this method has definitely not worked for me at all. So I think that I will have a rethink and maybe go back to my method of weekly payments to myself.

To be fair I have had a bit of a manic month paying things out so not only has my monthly budget suffered but also my savings. On the positive side though I now have a fence and finally some privacy in the garden, an (almost) decluttered guest bedroom, a new insulation kit for the storage heater that is sitting in the guest bedroom waiting to be put back onto the living room wall. This means that I will have heat in the living room this winter instead of using very expensive electric fan heaters. I have 3 nights booked and paid for in London for next month, the train tickets to get there and the dog sitter booked and paid for. So hopefully next month will be much easier on the purse strings. I think that this has officially been my worst month to date.

All of this means that I am left with £24 to last until payday which is next Tuesday. My storecupboards are well stocked and there is half a tank of petrol in the car. I just hope that no friends phone up and ask to land on me at the last minute. So I will have to be very inventive over the next week to work out how to survive. Although I am paid on Tuesday I normally work my budgets out to the Friday following payday and work on a weekly basis. As the envelope system hasnt worked then this is what I will return to next month. Which means that although it is payday on Tuesday I wont officially pay myself until a week on Friday.

Just remembered that it is bank holiday this weekend and OH is off in London again so wont be seeing him. I will have to think of some things to amuse myself on a very low budget. Now maybe that Laura Ashley Paint that I found will call me to make use of it.
Mmmmm I wonder - does paint in tins (not plastic cartons) go off? There is a very nice honeysuckle one which I might use to paint the hall and declutter the cloakroom and paint in there too.

Today I am having to do some paperwork at home so I will be off to the study to get on with that in a few minutes.
    Just one more PG first.
