    Hi all

I also won tickets for the Rod Stewart gig at the SECC with Ent24. I collected the tickets and attended the gig last night. Other people were picking up tickets at the same time as me yesterday (around 1pm lunch time) and the venue had just printed out tickets for the Ent24 guest list as we had to wait. This was before the cancellation email had been sent.

I think in the end last night people that had winning emails and had attended were getting allowed into the SECC for the concert.

I hope eveyone gets this sorted.
Thank You to all that post competitions. :T

It was the ppl who didnt leave when told to or who were told to come back at 10 to 8 that got given tickets to get in on monday nite after the emails had been sent out. A large majority of ppl had already been sent away being told that there was no chance they would be getting in. Its all been dealt with wrongly. Some got their prize and others didnt. I can see this being a big fight for the rest of us now :(

I took a pair of Rockness tickets, really hope everyone gets an alternative gig that's suitable:)
4 children = no matching socks:)
  • I took a pair of Rock Ness tickets too. Gutted about not getting to see Rod Stewart, but I think it's reasonable compensation- but then I was only travelling from Edinburgh... I think there were a few people from further afield...
  • I must be one of the few 'lucky' ones to get our free tickets to see Rod Stewart at Glasgow SECC! We set off early on the 26th from Preston, Lancashire, arriving around lunchtime, checked into the hotel which was on site then went to collect our tickets around midday which we got without any fuss at all!! I would have been furious having travelled 200 miles and paid for a hotel to be told "sorry its a mistake!!" As usual Rod was fantastic. On our return I read the email, can we ever trust ENTS24 and AEG Live again?? I have complained to both companies and received a "corporate" answer from ENTS24 and awaiting a reply from AEG Live. Both these companies trade on goodwill I think thats gone!

Are you genuine Pam or are you a PR for one of these companies?
  • Regarding your question am I a PR person for these companies the answer is definately NO.

The way they have both behaved would make PR impossible!!

I feel really sorry for the people who did not get in and the fact that police were involved is terrible when people are treated like animals.

I can confirm that Pam doesn't work for Ents24.

Ents24 does indeed rely on the reputation we've gained from over 10 years of hard work, and I agree that it's been badly damaged by this episode. I can't speak for AEG, but I suspect that few people consider who the promoter is when they book concert tickets.

Here at Ents24, we're trying to work out what we could have done differently, either before Monday to ensure that it didn't happen, or how we could have handled the problems better.

Although AEG agreed to contact people to organise an alternative prize, we've had staff in the office 16 hours a day since Monday to ensure we respond quickly to any concerns people have.

The real problem, of course was that that the winners' tickets were cancelled in the first place. We had no reason at all to think that this could possibly happen, especially at such short notice. All the paperwork was in order and we've run hundreds of competitions before without incident. After all, the tickets in this case were being supplied directly by AEG, Rod's concert promoters, not some bloke down the pub.

I realise that's of little consolation to the winners that couldn't get in, and we are genuinely sorry that so many people were affected.
  • I to was affected by the above.
Have AEG/Ents24 offered you an alternative yet ?
