Rod Stewart tickets cancelled

I managed to complain all afternoon until I was phoned by a lady at ENTS24, who asked if I was still available to go to the concert.
I said yes although had to locate my friend as we had gone our seperate ways once I found out I wasn't getting my tickets. Anyway to cut a long story short I was told to go to the secc and I would get tickets. I did indeed get tickets but not before waiting at least half an hour and missing 20mins of the concert so I'm still reeling to be honest and was utterly shocked to see the police involved holding the concert winners under the escalators. :mad: Ridiculous and utterly shamful for a company like AEG.

What should have been a great experience was turned into farse and a whole load of hard work to get there. I have 5 children and rarely get out, and last night I had met friends at 4pm from work for a right good night out. 2 glasses of wine later my husband phones to tell me about the cancellation. I felt embarrassed having to tell my friends we couldn't go with our other friends to the gig. I then went home to sort out the mess..... took aver 2 hours! Then I'm told I have tickets, I go and it ends up in a long delay. Good Gig, but not the evening I had planned and feel very stressed and angry about the whole thing.

Can't even imagine how you guys who, travelled but didn't get in feel. Hope you get something AMAZING, and I'd mention the way you were accompanied by police under an escalator. That was very humiliating.

I had travelled from Liverpool and had arrived in Glasgow around about 5pm and found somewhere to eat when i decided to check my emails via my phone and received the one telling me i was no longer getting tickets:mad::mad:

My fella had had a hard time gettin the day off so he could take me as I really wanted to go to the Glasgow one being Rods adopted city. We were both fuming and decided to just get back home, the drive up had been terrible with lots of queues on the motorway so my fella wouldn't even talk to me for a time coming home (like it was my fault!!)

We are about £100 out of pocket for nothing, obvioulsy I was willing to pay to go to the concert but its a lot of money to spend and get nothing for it apart from disapointment.

I have emailed both AEG and Ents24 with a complaint and think AEG offering London tickets without travel/accomodation is a joke.

I'm happy some managed to get in and hope they had a great time, I'm also glad I did not stay and had to cope with being held by police.....how embarrasing.

I was unlucky to actually be travelling to the SECC so did not receive any email. On turning up at SECC at 5.15pm was told to wait until 8pm to see if we could be admitted. Then at 7.45pm there were very large numbers of people involved and we were all informed that there were NO tickets available and to leave. I met a couple who had flown back early from a holiday in Greece specially to see Rod Stewart and also many people from all over the UK involving flights,trains and of course hotel bookings. This is an outrageous situation and I agree something should be done by all of us who have been affected. I wonder What Rod Stewart with his love for Scotland feels about this - I certainly hope he hears about all the SECC chaos!!!!

Make sure everyone affected posts something on his official Facebook page. His management people will see it at least.

My mum and I managed to get in but only as we waited, being told to wait until after 8pm. Before that people were given car park passes and had left! Being herded under that stairwell was quite humiliating, especially with the police escort.

Feeling bad for everyone who didn't get in, especially those who travelled great distances to be there. It was a horrible start to the night. I don't usually enter ticket comps but entered this especially for my mum, will think twice now about entering them again.

Just had an email from AEG

"Dear Ent24 Customer.

We are sorry for the error that occurred on 26th July 2010, meaning that you were not allocated a pair of tickets for the Rod Stewart concert at the SECC. A human error occurred and meant a miscalculation of tickets available on the night, which we are incredibly sorry about. When we discovered this we immediately undertook the task of informing customers affected of the problem. In addition every effort was made to find and supply as many of the competition winners as possible but unfortunately we were not able to fulfil all winners prizes.
We’d like to offer those Ents 24 customers that did not get into the concert tickets for one of the following events:

Rod Stewart at the O2 Arena (Wednesday 28th July London)
Tiesto at Victoria Park (Friday 30th July, Victoria Park, London)
L.E.D Festival (Friday 28th August and Saturday 29th August, Victoria Park, London)
RockNess Festival (June 2011, Dores Farm, Inverness, Scotland)

Please let us know by replying to this email if you would like a pair of tickets to the above events"

I also got this email at lunchtime. i Replied and said i would have Rockness Tickets as long as they sent them straight to my home. I told them im not willing to risk going up on the day to collect them at box office. after last nights disaster. Havent heard back yet, so we will have to wait n see what they say to that.

I've not had a reply yet from aeg despite emailing them this morning. I find it hard to believe that they have sent out 3 London options all for this week!
Why no Glasgow options?
Or am I just being a moan??

The LED festival is the end of August. Not that it makes the options any better in my opinion.
