The less money asda lose to shoplifting (for example) the lower prices they can offer to everyone.

If that were the case then that would be super, but ASDA are very selective (as are all supermarkets - I'm not that naive) on what prices they reduce and their 'rollbacks' rarely represent a reduction unless on an artificially inflated price. Basket / trolley comparisons are also very selective.

I can only assume most posters who have replied work either for ASDA or other similar stores as you all come down firmly on their side. I am not a shoplifter as some of you seem happy to assume and am a perfeclty law abiding (now former) customer of ASDA and have been for the past 17 years, 10 or so regularly in the store concerned.

I am not especially keen on the oft used mantra of the customer always being right, however neither do I blindly believe what supermarkets tell me is in my best interests as one of their customers. Customer Service advise me that the members of staff in store should use their discretion, however clearly that is not happening.

Funny when nobody agrees with the post then everybody must work for the nasty company.....let's face it you were expecting everybody to have sympathy. I'm willing to bet that nobody who has replied works for Asda....nor do I

If your policy is now to boycott all companies who have this policy then this indeed is money saving to a new extreme....you won't be spending a penny anywhere.

Neither shoddy nor sneaky. Eminently sensible. Particularly when you consider the tendencies of the sort of conniving low-life who shop in Asda.

That's hardly fair on the many thousands of people who shop in Asda, all shops attract some sort of conniving low-life be it Asda, Aldi, Netto, Sainsburys, Harrods, Selfridges or Harvey Nichols.

Oh Come on OP, it was not sneeky or anything, did you want them to send you a letter of all changes they make on a weekly basis????
The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!

If I give you advice it is only a view and always always take professional advice before acting!!!

4 people on the ignore list....Bliss!

Hmmm i dunno, i would want a personal phone call. Anything other would surely still be sneaky as who's to say the letter would be delivered to me and someone wouldnt steal it?

That is like you offering me tea one day then me turning up at your door 2 years later expecting tea. Do you rescind every offer you make? I highly doubt it so dont apply rules to others if you arent willing to follow them yourself.
Not going to deny it then?

Ah, amazing. I fully take back my earlier statement saying you were acting like a child. You have truly proven me wrong.

ASDA CS may be crap but at least they're (marginally) friendlier than many on here! :rotfl:
