I'm exhausted. Actually had a busy day in the office today which was nice - filling in an application for a proper job in between phone calls and admin work. I DO like the position of my new desk! I'm quite enjoying this new post - at least I get to use my noddle a bit AND talk to people AND I can surf in between times.

Left work at 4.30, was supposed to get home and drive the car up to the garage before it closed at 5.30 so they can MOT it tomorrow. Bus was due at 4.34 (right outside office). The next one was due at 4.49. One finally turned up at 5.00. Then got stuck in the roadworks so by the time I got home it was 5.25 - not enough time to get the car to the garage. But I've phoned them and NN and she'll follow me up the road first thing tomorrow morning, I'll drop off the car and put the key through the letter box and she'll drive me on to work. Bless her!

Spoke to the vet about BB's squits given I had to mop the utility area AGAIN this morning at 7am because of it. She's suggested not giving her dinner tonight so she's starved for 24 hours. But, as she only eats once a day, I realised this afternoon, she starves for 24 hours anyway! But, I'll not give her dinner tonight and put up with her "what have I done?" looks but will give her a little bit of plain boiled rice (sans egg) for breakfast in the morning so she doesn't faint from hunger and see what has transpired when I get home tomorrow night.

I put one load of washing on the line this morning, took it in and put another load out this evening which is almost dry so can come in before I go to bed. I have mucked out the chickens, let them have half an hour quality time in their new run and am now about to make dinner.

I have been shopping, paid some money into the bank and spent my HMV giftcard :D Also went to see Toy Story 3 and loved it!

2 loads of washing done and dried, and general S & S achieved.

Tomorrow I am going to London to see the Girlguiding exhibition at Docklands and then to see The Railway Children at Waterloo. They have transformed the old Eurostar platforms into a theatre and the show includes a real steam train :T

Put washing powder in with hot water and left overnight - tipped it out this morning hoping it would be loose enough for easier cleaning and was pleasantly surprised to see washing powder, water and black stuff pour down the sink - no scrubbing needed!!

I'll try that on one of my pans later - thanks, Jenny.

Overall a good day. Went to the J32 outlet off the M62 and I managed to find a few bits and pieces, but have to take two of them back. One of the bras doesn't fit well and I bought something to wear under my dress which doesn't work. Looks like I'll have to waste valuable time shopping at the weekend, but it was nice to skirt around toy shops etc as it was just me and DH. I also wanted black strappy sandals with a nice heel, but couldn't find any. I know it's a lot of fuss for one night out, but we're having the Moulin Rouge show as an early anniv celebration.

I've caught up with the thread, so I'll have a good look at my list now. (ETA: Wish I hadn't. :o) Then a cuppa and I should really make a start on decluttering the LR. At least I can have youtube on the laptop and indulge in old [STRIKE]theme[/STRIKE]tunes while I'm working. :D Rock ballads to start with, and I'll see where that leads to. x
  • Hi flygang,

Only flying here today after wage slave stuff, is more wage slave stuff - I have to have a "work" CV by tommorrow   - on a formatted form and competency based - trouble is I'm not sure what competences I should have in this job, and no idea what the mythical job we're applying for needs... :rotfl:

I'm a public servant - need I say more? My "current" role should last until March-ish 2011, but who knows at the minute? DH is kindly sorting supper whilst I try with this dratted form...

    Name - check
    Managers details - check
Roles over last n years - check
Blurb about my skills over 5 years - check
Large blurb about competences with examples
    ermm....

A large glass of something may be required...

    Moam
Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

Soappie this is not woofie medical advice, but in the rescue I helped at we had a 'recipe' for those with iffy tums. If it failed to help they went on gastriplex when it arrived along with the diet, think you can get it off petmeds

1/3 low fat meat - chicken or turkey
2/3 white rice or cottage cheese
2 - 3 tablespoons of pro biotic yogurt

Some swear by adding sweet potato too, but we never did

Hope everyone is well. I best go get some flying done to dodge that mule as I've not done as much as I wanted to today, spent the day playing more of a taxi and cook role.....
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb
