The (not so old) Crocks Cafe -Part 2

It's been a few days since I've posted, or at least that's what it feels like. Have been quite stressed. Mum/carer isn't coping, is very stressed and that impacts on me because I don't get the things I need. I'm also increasingly stressed because I had an encounter with another dog owner at training last week and I'm not good with social situations so the closer this weeks training session is getting the more sick I feel about it. There's a fairly waffling explanation of the 'encounter' but the short version is a that it was just misunderstanding.
Tonight I went to my cousins with a bunch of other people, it should have been great and minus my health problems it probably would have been but as it was my stomach was doing flips, my head was pounding and my joints were aching. Other than that it was good.
I am dreading tomorrow as I triple booked myself- Car boot sale browsing in the morning, dog training at lunch time, might just have time for a nap before then going to friends for drinks and nibbles as three of our friends came back from uni for spring break today.
Didn't get to bed til 4am today, up at 9am. Looks like it will be similar tonight.
LadyMorticia - I love your hair, and you are very pretty too
AuntyAxe (yes I have nicked that name, but I think it's appropriate) - It's good to see you doing a bit of communicating, and don't worry about appearing to be antisocial, we all understand.
... And yes, housing associations are a mine field. I need to move though, if I don't I can see either one or both of us breaking down as mum really isn't coping. That's what is giving me the strength to fight for it.
Lamewolf - I got my new batteries in and it has sort of worked, but the machine is still so slow that an engineer is coming to look at it some time this week (hopefully) and you should have been there when my dad was huffing and puffing trying to fix the thing, you'd think he'd entered the Iron Man competition not changing a battery.. The funniest part was when he was bringing the battery+case inside, from his audibles I thought he had hurt himself but no that was just him, my mum is 5ft1 and doesn't have much strength, she also has joint problems and lifts the battery without any fuss (yes it is very heavy but not a peep from her) so it just reinforced my belief that my dad is a drama queen! How are your new batteries? Does Mr LW do this or is it just my dad being weird?0 -
Very pretty hair, morticia!
Thanks CWTA.
glad you're feeling OK, Trialia.
LW, as always - Mr LW is very special, so you must be exceptionally so to meet with his adoration!
Oh, and Morticia - is that a Warwick or a Cort Bass I see tucked away beside your Marshall amp? (back to the obsession)
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
ladymorticia.............love the hair ......oh to have my youth back and do something like that............lol I'll have to become an ''eccentric old lady'' instead:)
Erme - if it were me I'd either get a really pretty piece of voile (or is that the new word for net ?) and go for drapes. Should look very stylish:)
Yeah I'm just concerned about the sun cos like with the lounge facing east and south it can get very bright...I might just get roller blinds and do the voile...Only no rush. Got to decorate the lounge first tee heeLadyMorticia wrote: »You should have a rest. Don't over-do it.
Thanks.
My temperature control goes to two extremes - I'm either really cold or really hot and sometimes when the weather is cold, I'm hot and vice versa. There is no inbetween.
That sounds interesting.
Thank you.
My MIL was talking about dying her hair pink. She's 54 and was worried that it would draw attention to her weight. I said it wouldn't because the pink hair would draw attention to her pretty face instead.
Interesting. Do you know why your body temp goes to extremes? I'm having a long standing row with a lazy eejit who has personality disorder and won't get up till at least 10am cos 'he's not a morning person'. Like Hello if I don't get up at 6 I'm not ready to start the day @ 8.30. He also won't take menial jobs cos 'they made him ill years ago' - go figure. I'd be dead by now if I took that attitude!! Simply cos I would never venture into a supermarket!!!. Just cos (am only speaking about MH issues here) something made you sick years ago doesn't auto mean it's going to make you sick now. I woke him up @ 9am on Saturday. He wasn't happy. LOL..
He won't even text cos that's 'pointless'. Well hello....a lot of his phonecalls interrupt my activities and are pointless. And then when I try to phone him back he's either engaged or out!! What he says in a phonecall he could say in a text. Now he's moaning that I get more money than him (cos he stopped his DLA out of his own volition. He actually had a life time award)..well I don't have the bank of Dad....why do PD's argue over minor details yet miss the bigger picture ? Anyone know? And why are they so set in their ways (this chap is under 40?)
Sorry to rant...soon on with the painting

JoJo - It's my husband's so I had no idea. I asked him and he laughed and said "No, I'm not that rich" lol.
Erme - Which PD does he have? I have Borderline Personality Disorder. Things can change in a few years. He won't know if they make him ill again if he doesn't try. Life is about risks. Why did he stop the DLA? Was he better? Or was it a PD thing to stop it?2019 Wins

LM I love the hair!
FP Mr LW changed my scooter batteries with no problem. I haven't been out on it yet - bit of a traumatic time yesterday -(as detailed on post #93 on this week's Flylady thread, if anyone's interested https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/42943602#Comment_42943602 ) but there's no reason to think the scooter won't work.:o I don't know how old your Dad is - Mr LW is 61, and he just got on with the task, and I never heard a squeak out of him the whole time. But... as Jojo mentioned, he's a very special man.:D
Trialia I'm another one with a faulty thermostat - as far as I can make out, it's just one of the ways my lupus manifests itself. It's a perishin' nuisance, but nowt I can do about it.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Hugs LameWolf, I am sure you did just fine (and yep another one with no temperature control here as well!)Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Another with temp control issues here - can't stay cool enough, although is improved since going onthe HRT patches.
