  • CWTA - have you got any friends or family that can come over for even an evening to help? Also, the best advice I've ever been given is to pack up essentials that you need immediately together, like tea/kettle/meds etc and label everything!

Unfortunately, I have too much eperience in moving house so know to take tea, coffee, loo rolls, kettle, bedding etc in the car with me. Thanks you though - I could well have forgotten.

Dad and his wife are coming to see the house today so will come here first and I will load up their car too. I have a wonderful friend - that I met through the old Fibro thread and actually lives only 90 odd miles from me - she is coming down to stay at new place from Saturday and she'll be cracking the whip making me get organised.

Hope you are sleeping well now and that the Tramadol is helping. I always find a cold or anything like that causes a symptom flare.
I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break :D

Same when I was in 6th form. However, they never dropped us at 6th form on a Thursday afternoon - it was the local Spar for some reason.
    How did the ECG go?

    My son hates them!

I hate them too. I remember getting in a bit of a tangle with the wires.:rotfl::o

Just a very quickie as I am shattered. I had DLA Appeal today and have been awarded HRM and LRC for 2 years and I am delighted. I am also moving on Friday to a property that has a downstairs toilet and an adapted shower room downstairs. It's about 25 mins drive away from my support system and the area I know best, but I am mighty relieved to have got security. It's been and is still going to be one hell of a week!

Congratulations! I bet that is such a relief. Good luck with the move x

Ok, so I took some extra tramadol as this cold I have was really affecting my HMS/fibro as the pain was everywhere and I couldn't get comfortable anywhere, in any position, which was horrendously frustrating. I managed to get about 4 hours sleep which is more than I was expecting, but now at almost 3am I am wide awake :(

That's exactly what used to happen to me on the tramadol - four hours' sleep and wide awake. I'm sorry to hear it's happening to you too.

Though, you have put a song I like into my head as an earworm - Lacuna Coil's "Wide Awake"...

  • Hi everyone

CWTA pleased things are going well for you and hope the move isnt to traumatic.

I had my ESA medical yesterday so just waiting to hear. The guy told me only 25% of people are awarded it so am a bit nervous now. What sure what I will do if I'm turned down.

Have a good day all and try to keep warm. It's freezing here:(
  • I spoke to ESA and the woman explained things to me, I get extra money because I have DLA and the money that was put in the other day was a back payment, my proper payments will start on the 9th :D

That's great! Hehe, and you just reminded me that mine goes up on the 9th (the 10th being my 25th).

Heh, also reminds me of something funny... I found out a couple of days ago that my regular agency carer has exactly the same birthday as me. Neat, huh. :)

Ouch! is all I have to say. I pulled the muscles in my neck getting dressed this morning. :( I've also done that today by washing my hair.

  • Happy Birthday Trialia, if I don't remember on the day :P

My doggy is being very odd today, all bouncy this morning and highly alert this evening, growling and barking at stuff outside like he used to when we first moved here. It's cute, and part of his personality, but kinda hard to deal with when you're a bit under the weather as I am at the moment.

I treated myself to some tasty sweet treats from the speciality counter at waitrose today, and bought myself some nice soft night time sleep wear. I also got a hanging bird feeder as seeing wildlife in my garden really lifts my mood and could make all the difference on a bad day, if it helps me then I am seriously considering getting one that stands up on its own so I can put it on the patio and see the bird life even closer.

Im pleased that some of you got good news today, sorry but there are so many posts that I cant answer them individually, Im tired and we have the baby.

My sons doing a level 2 BTEC apprentership in engineering Sue (hes 14) and he goes to another school and the local further ED. colledge for his lessons, the LA provide transport vis taxis or mini buses so transfers arnt a problem for us and if they were we would drive him but we even have to do less driving because the LA insist on driving him home.

Its so hard today to choose what our kids will study, gone are the days of standard lessons and (thank god) now there are subjects for people like my son whos skilled in other subjects than the traditional ones.

    How did the ECG go?

    My son hates them!

It really is hard isn't it? So far he has chosen BTEC's in Music and Productions Arts but he is a little stymied by what else to do...although we are getting closer to a decision even if the little booklet is starting to look rather sorry for itself! :rotfl:

Our LEA is not particularly good when it comes to transport, they were the ones who suggested (on advice from the various medical and school advisors) middle and youngest went to the high school they are at, which is not our catchment high school but when it came to transport, they refused to organise it as they said we had chosen to go to an out of catchment school...no amount of appealing would get them to change their minds.

I had thought I could do some of the cross site trips but the SENCO actually thinks it would be better for him to try to stay in the one school so as not to unsettle him...mind you, we think this is bad, it is going to be much much worse with youngest when he comes to the GCSE years!

The choice though is a lot better, much more options for those who don't fare so well in the traditional exams or subjects....middle son is particularly impressed he can do music and have no exams!

The ECG went well, the person taking it didn't really let on much apart from mumbling about some ectopics but we should find out properly when we see the doctor on Monday.

How is your husband getting on now? Are things improving?
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
