Great! and well done for booking it. There's nothing like having something to look forward to. Babbacombe Downs is lovely. We don't get up there often as our daughter lives in Plymouth so we tend to end up 'down south'.

We're also with you on the independent travel bit. You could break the drive by stopping on the way down? Gloucester is worth a visit or Weston Super Mare or Bristol or Exeter or ....
But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?

    Hiya Taxi,

Welcome home & really pleased to hear you've had a lovely time :j.

I agree with your driving to your hol next year & then using local transport when possible; that's exactly what we're planning to do whe we go to Cornwall this summer. I quite enjoy bus & train trips when on hol as it's a novelty & you get to see the area rather than having to concentrate on the road ... means having a drink is easy too ;)

    xx

Public transport isn't that easy in Cornwall Lula, make sure you check the trains/buses - they tend to be a bit useless!

Have just booked and paid my deposit for an appartment in a villa in Devon for next May.We are going for a fortnight and know exactly where it is as we walked past it whilst there and I said to DH that I wouldn't mind staying there..it's right on babbacome downs which is absolutely beautiful. We plan on driving there and getting weekly passes for the buses as the bus stop is at the top of the road.
So something to look forward to

thats absolutely brilliant, I love all round there, can't wait to get down to Dawlish again, xx
