Sounds like you had a fantastic time Taxi, but  to your scare on getting back! So glad to hear that it turned out to be comparatively minor in the grand scheme of things!

South Devon is lovely - I take it there will be day trips off to various places while you are there? If there is one to Dartmouth/Kingswear then jump at it as Dartmouth is a lovely town for an explore - you can do a circular trip from Paignton too involving the river/train & open topped bus.

can def ditto re South Devon, we love it down there, the paignton /kingswear and boat if you want to go to Dartmouth is beautiful day out, you can add a boat trip of bay of Dartmouth, thats lovely.
Get there early, once got tickets, you can get the observation carriage - front of the train, its beautiful, £1 extra each way, not as good on way back as you then have the engine, comfy seats.

there most proberly take you to Princetown, and stop at the Old Police Station cafe, (thats nice), Dalwish - beautiful, if you do get chance, go to Gays Creamery and have an incecream, it is the best in the country, their pies, cakes, etc are out of this world.

Your have a brilliant time, do you both the world of gd, esp DH as he's not driving, just make sure he doesn't get into the wrong seat!!

Hope you get sorted out, glad they got you on the antibiotics so quick, you take care xx

    Thanks for all the tips.
We have organised trips to Plymouth,Dartmoor and Exeter,Brixham and Dartmouth...
it lists a beautiful river cruise and cream tea...don't know which trip that is on or if that's a seperate one.
we have bed, breakfast and evening meal for 7 nights plus one lunch...sounds ok to me.

Had the antibiotics already in as my BCN said to keep a spare lot in case it didn't clear with the 1st lot.

Am worn out as have had JJ since wednesday afternoon and he's so full of energy...lol..he's back home now and my house is peaceful.DD2 arrives back tonight from the hen do in Salou.

Got my stuff from national this morning..just need to wait a fortnight now...DH said he's ready for a break now...lol

Not much else happening here but that's good as I don't seem to have had any rest for the last 10 days so plan on chilling out and pottering for the next few days.

Oh god yes, long live chilling - I've been writing as much on my diary, if you remember :)

Devon sounds absolutely gorgeous, especially a cruise, and I think you need trips, as opposed to navigating yourself - it'd really be a busman's holiday for your OH then, wouldn't it! And you can loll about on a coach or be social, as the mood takes you.

Hey Taxi - I've been a bit thin on the ground recently, so I'm glad to see that you have booked another holiday. Have a fabulous time, and if there's any room in the suitcase, PM me. :rotfl:

Glad you enjoyed your time with your SIL and even better that you are getting a trip away with your lovely OH you both deserve it.

Hope the infection clears up quickly and I can understand it being a nasty shock.

It sounds like you've got some brilliant trips included, Exeter is lovely, they usually do that on a half day trip. The catherdal there is beautiful. Any room in the suitcase xx

Sounds good in the brochure so hope it's as good in reality.

I'm liking the term of eating frogs but I actually like the little critters. Oops caught a button and not sure how to get rid of the italics. Trip sounds lovely by the way.
