Well I've been productive this morning...
Phoned up hospital and booked my eye appointment through choose and book which will be 6th April at 8.45 am...I have a growth/cyst that optician wants me to get checked out...dr thinks it's a cyst but not sure and asked if I wanted it removed or left but I said removed..that way it'll get checked properly.
Phoned up out of hours department to pay DHs prescription charge from when he had to use them the other week as they couldn't take the money for it then.
Have popped to DSs house and then to the shops.
I haven't been to bed yet so may try to stay awake all day so that I can get back to normal sleeping pattern.
Haven't really got anything that needs doing today so will be a pottering day anyway.
Pottering about are the best kind of days
Hope you get into a good sleep routine soon.
Take care taxi.

Morning all...I've been quite busy already this morning(by my standards anyway)
I've sorted some paperwork
Emptied the kitchen bin
Folded one lot of washing from drier
Got one load in the washer which is nearly finished which will go in drier and then folded in the next hour or so
Washed and put pots away in the kitchen
Had 2 brews
Checked banking
I have a meeting to go to at 1pm and banking to do and not much else that has to be done ...I've plenty that could do with doing but no rush.
Hope you all have a good day0 -
Blooming Heck Taxi you are putting us all to shame - I am assuming this means that you sleeping pattern is still out of kilter a bit but hopefully its improving.
Take care

I slept from about 1.30am to 5.30am last night so am intending to stay awake all day and go to bed no later than 11pm tonight so that I can hopefully get back in routine.
Just been having a think and am thinking of getting myself a sealed pot and adding money to it for every pound lost and then I get a whole new wardrobe of clothes when I get to goal.
Also thinking of setting a certain amount of money per week for shopping and drawing it out in cash each week..I've never done a budget before because we've always been S/E so don't know what's coming in and out each week....am thinking £50 per week for 3 adults.
Anything from one week can carry over to the next week.0 -
Good news on getting some sleep - and even when self employed it is worth having a rough budget in mind. Ok, so it won't always go according to plan, but then even when fully employed, budgetting is there to be "flexible" (or manipulated, whichever way you want to see it!!).Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Don't get me wrong I know what goes out bill wise and cannot be changed as they are essentials.
I limit myself to 1 tank of fuel a month for my car at the moment as my back is still quite bad so use it more than I'd like at the moment.Am hoping to start walking a lot more and only fill it once every couple of months.
I can roughly estimate a figure for my car expenses if I'm going to put them away monthly..which I don't at the moment.
The problem lies with judging the running costs for the cab as you never know what the next car bill will be and with fuel going up and up how much that will cost along with other running costs.
So coming into the grown up world of budgetting...I am going to for the 1st time ever start a couple of pots off...I do have a £2k overdraft to be used if needs be for repairs and credit cards if needed so have never felt the need to budget as I have always had a back up if needed.
must be doing ok though as I'm not in the overdraft or have not used credit cards for months..plus also putting some in savings and paying for our holiday0 -
Hi
I find that working with cash is easier for me, for groceries etc. The rest I have no control over, so I set myself an amount - currently £45 - draw it out in cash, and make a list. Then I play a game to see how much under that amount I can get. Anything left over goes in a 'spare' purse, which is for treats.
I had to do this when unemployed, and I still find it works when earning reasonable money.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

That's a productive couple of days you have had there Taxi. Re the budgetting thing, this is something I have only really got my head round properly in the past year, and with things as they are now I am seriously glad that I have done, too! we put aside money into an account for car running costs each month, we budget £137 per month at the moment which *should* take account of everything bar fuel - so things like tyres, bulbs needing changed as well as insurance, tax etc. It's such a reassurance knowing that the money is waiting should there be a problem, and takes a lot of the stress out of things like the annual MoT test too. I also now have (just recently set up) a "Household" account which gets a small regular DD and will hopefully contribute towards things like contents insurance.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I've done the same as EH. Probably not paying enough in yet but at least its a start. Has made buying oil a bit easier knowing there is some money in the pot and only having to find a bit.
