Taxi - I'm so pleased that the rads are bearable up to now. I can't believe how quickly the time is going - when you first mentioned chemo then rads - it seemed a long, long time and before I know it here you are having the rads. ALTHOUGH I bet it seems a long time to you and hard to imagine life before the start of the cancer.

The plans sound fantastic. I thoroughly agree life is for living and the mortgage is going in the right direction - you and h deserve some fun after the past few months.

Funny how hair reacts - mine fell out a few months after I'd been ill - I could have understood it if it fell out at the time but I was actually on the mend when it started to fall out (luckily it just went very thin then grew back) the same happened to dd after she'd had surgery last Christmas - hers virtually all fell out from about March/April and is now growing back again - but in both our cases much curlier than previous. It has baffled me as to why it happens AFTER the event - it wasn't chemo or anything like that so maybe just a combo of shock and stress to the body and the cocktail of drugs during and after surgery. Very strange!!

Take care and carry on listening to your body - rest it when it needs it.

Thanks all...the thing for DLA you are referring to is when diagnosed with secondary or terminal cancer.
it can't do any harm to apply I guess so willgo for it...probably take weeks to get an appointment with CAB though.

Yours is secondary in that some of the glands were affected, is that right? Not a very pleasant thing to have to go through in itself :( take all the help that CAB can give you.

    Lots of hugs ((((((((((Taxi))))))))))

Mine wasn't secondary. It wasn't in the lynph nodes...they removed the sentinel lymph nodes to see if there was any sign of cancer in those and as there wasn't they didn't need to remove the others....thankfully.
Am not long back from the hospital so 3 down....12 to go.
Just sent DD2 to do the banking and post some cards and pick up some salt.
DS3 popped in earlier with 2 DVDS and a snuggle wrap for me...bless him...he's at the dentist this afternoon..
nothing much else going on which is good.

I've just been very productive and phoned up a couple of the travel insurance companies and it will be quite easy to get travel insurance from them once I've finished rads and a month has passed..one will give a quote 12months in advance and the other firm 9 months in advance..both are none american firms and both quote for Cuba...

Am going to pop into travel agents as can't see where to book 1st class seats on the website and I want 1ST class seats.

    Am getting quite excited.

  • Cuba sounds great, something very nice to look forward to. Did you mention going to Scotland in the new year aswell, don't forget before booking to look at Quidco. Keep taking things at your pace, your body still needs plenty of rest.

Quarter of the way there - that's good.

Well the reason I couldn't book 1st class tickets was that Thomas cook from 2011 will not be having the 1st class seats on ANY longhaul aircraft...how !!!!ing stupid is that.
The hotel I want to stay at is a thomas cook exclusive and in Cayo coco..we stayed there 6 years ago and really loved it.At that time there were a number of AIRLINES THAT FLEW THERE THENand now only thomas cook/airtours fly to that place.

Am gutted.. so to go to the place I want to go will be thomas cook only and quite smallish seats but I love the place.

Have been looking up Varadero Cuba and many fly there but what we're looking at will cost over £5k for the two of us against £2.5k for what we really want.
    or
we could look at other destinations...I really don't know what to do
