  • Oh Taxi - this rubbish is just so what you don't need at the moment and my heart goes out to you. As Hypno says though it's hard to beat this site for sensible and practical advice when and where it's most needed. Have you thought any more about speaking with SS - I would think it can only go in the whole family's favour in the long term as at least then they will know that there are grandparents in the picture who in no way condone your DD's behaviour, and care deeply for DGS as well of course. Perhaps short term it might be necessary for the little ones to go into care but if SS see how the land lies it would very likely be possible for you to take them on long term if you'd be happy with that, and once your strength returns, of course.

Is there anyone who your DD1 will listen to and who's opinion she respects who might be able to talk to her and make her realise what the long-term implications of this are? Perhaps in this instance you are simply too close to the situation.

I'll cross my fingers that very soon there is a much more cheery post from you on the subject and that the situation is on its way to being resolved.

Oh Taxi, how horrendous, I can't believe you're having to deal with this - as Hypno said, I've no clue about how to help, but I see KM has! Thats good news, at least. This is little JJ thats the DGS? I hope this resolves positively really soon - I'll be thinking of you, and watching out for more from you whenever I'm on. All the best.

Taxi, I really hope this gets sorted for you - but one thing to remember, being taken into care may just mean that the children spend a short time with someone as amazing as DT, while you get something sorted that suits all and your children accept that they have to take control of the lives they have created.

There will be no easy solution but anger and stress will not help you recover. x

Thanks for all the replies...her phone is still off so no contact.I do wish to talk to her before talking to SS as I think that's only fair.So will hold off for now.

I accept it's her life and she can do what she wants and she has to learn from her mistakes.I cannot accept that my gc can be in care no matter how good the foster parents may be.Maybe that will have to be for the assessment but how awful for children so young.

Taxi, so sorry about all the carp going on. At least you have been given a contact to discuss things with. And remember those kids have got a grandmother and grandfather who care about them. Do you have any contact with the other sets of grandparents involved? They might be pulling their hair out too over the situations.

First things first though - get yourself fit and well. If you are not fit and well yourself then you will be neither use nor ornament to anyone else!

I am sure things will work out eventually - "stuff" just happens, and sometimes there's a hard road ahead, but you will eventually get through it.

Taxi, how old is DD? Is she on her own with the kids? Maybe she isn't coping and a sheltered housing arrangement might help. It's difficult when people shut down away from the authorities in fear when they could help. Could you go round or does she live far away? It may be easier in person.
